Which Sitcom came off as TOO REALISTIC? Maude, All in the Family, or Good Times?

I would i have to say a tie between Good Times and Maude. Both Shows dealt with some of the same topics.

Alcoholism
Drugs
Rage


All in the Family on the otherhand wasn't as dramatic as Maude and GT.

Good Times wasn't realisitic at all.
The Jimmy character shot that possibility out the window.
Sure, it handled serious topics, but it wasn't realistic.

Maude however, was pretty realistic, as was All in the Family -- to some extent.

Have to disagree about Good Times. Some examples

James Throwing the Chair against the Wall

OLd Man dying in the Evans Living Room

J.J's girlfriend shooting up dope


But J.J was never involved in any realistic Situations.

Doesn't mean its realistic.

Just because the show is serious, doesnt mean its realistic.

I'm saying it's realistic because it dealt with

RAGE
DRUG USE
DEATH-more than once

I also forgot to add that both Maude and Good Times had episodes when the husband is a alcholic and Slaps his wife.

Realistic in terms of what?

Now, I didn't live out the 70s, so I have no way of really being able to say which was realistic, but I think all three to some extent were realistic. All in the Family dealt with humor more than the other two. Good Times had some VERY funny moments, but there were serious episodes almost all the time that dealt with a lot of stuff. Maude too. I can't really choose, lol. If I HAD to, I would go with Good Times, but the JJ character kind of brings it to the point of it not being realistic. Does that make sense?

Good Times did represent some of the serious issues that was going o in the U.S. during it's run on CBS. So that's what i mean by TOO REAL sometimes. LIke the shhoting up dope episode and the cousin who had a drinking problem and collasped at the end of the episode

Yeah, i see what you mean by that. I still have to pick Good Times for the simple fact I haven't seen a lot of Maude to really judge. I think Maude handled real life issues pretty well, and didn't overdo it, at least from what I've seen. I guess I have to agree with you that it's a tie between the two.
