The character Eddie Haskell was the greatest! My favorite moments are as follows:
As Ward and Wally stand downstairs and listen, Eddie says "Father, I think you should forgive the Cleavers...." when his father was really out of town. HA HA After finding out that Wally is upstairs studying, Eddie says "Mrs. Cleaver, when one keeps up with their daily assignments they don't have to cram." At a party at the Cleaver home, Eddie says, "I like having a party in a small house, it makes it so much more intimate." Eddie was such a great character because his comedy was not based on him being a dim-wit, but just a person who always has to put on heirs (sp?). Sort of like Barney Fife. What are you favorite Eddie moments? |

"You look very nice Eddie. You smell nice too"
"That's my new after-shave lotion" "Eddie, do you shave?" "No, but I like to smell like I do."

I think Eddie is a more complex character than meets the eye. I really liked in that one episode, where Wally has to dress up like a girl for a funny play, and he's too afraid to. We don't get to see it, but apparently Eddie totally hams it up and is so funny, and this is one instance where it would have been nice if Wally was more like Eddie, instead of Eddie always having to be more like Wally. I think they actually balance each other out well. I think if Eddie had a friend that wasn't as straight-laced as Wally, he could get into major trouble, and if Wally had a friend more like him...well, that would just be boring. They are total opposites, and get into fights sometimes, but I think they have a lot of fun together and support each other.

Well said (above), HaskellGirl.
Edward W. Haskell (aka: Edward Clark Haskell ) is one of the best characters ever written for the screen (small or big screen).I'd love a video/DVD which has JUST the "Eddie Wisecracks/Sarcasms" on it. It'd be a hoot, back-to-back. ![]() "Oh, yes ... athletics are fine, Mister Cleaver. But my father prefers me to develop in a normal manner." ![]() (Gotta love that kid's gonads when speaking to "The Ward" or "The June". )

Eddie: Ah, hey Wally._ Why don't you go down and bring me up something._ Every time I walk in the kitchen, your mother's always giving me that look. Wally: What look? Eddie: You know, like I'm a roach or something. What a charactor he was. jdf |
