Default The characters are different

Is it just me or do the characters on W&G seem to be a little different now than they were during the earlier years? I think this is one of the reasons the show went down hill the last two seasons besides the less funny storylines. The only character that seems to have stayed the same is Grace. Yeah, she is a little more neurotic, but otherwise, she hasn't changed much. Will, Karen and Jack on the other hand seem a little different.

Will is the most noticable. Lately, it seems the writers are making him too much like Jack. In the season finale, when he yelled "WE LOVE YOU J-LO!!!!!" in that little school girl voice, I kept thinking... "What the heck? Shouldn't Jack be saying that instead? And remember the episode where Grace, Karen and Jack were constantly reading Will's outgoing mail? They were laughing during the closing credits at a letter that Will wrote to Justin Timberlake, wishing him luck on his solo career after NSYNC broke up. I thought that was strange to have a character like Will doing something so unlike his character. He and Jack are very different in taste as pointed out in a season 3 episode, (Will reads novels, Jack reads Tiger Beat. Will can finish a sentence without the use of jazz hands, his frame of reference extends beyond boy bands and butt-robics.) Lately it doesn't seem like that anymore. I enjoyed Will more in the earlier seasons when he wasn't so "Jack like."

Jack is different in the sense that he isn't as much of a pest or smarta*s as he was in the earlier seasons. And last season, he seemed to talk in baby talk too often when talking with Karen. What's up with that?

Karen's voice has gotten way too high pictched. The way she talked in the first 4 seasons, nasal but not too high, was perfect. And she seems to act more like a little kid now where as she used to be much more of the mature lush with a real heart buried deep down inside. She used to have the funniest comebacks with an attitude that was hillarious, she doesn't come off that way anymore.

Has anyone else ever noticed this? Or is it just me?

I have noticed that the are a little different but I think it's a "good" sort of different. They haven't really varied all too much but it is noticable that something there isn't quite what it was.
Nethertheless - I enjoy the show all the same!

We've confused many people on the set because there is not one part of my body that Sean has not touched, nor me his. And I can't explain it-it's just our way of relating. I mean, if we were presented to the queen of England, I'd probably be grabbing his package."

I haven't been watching the show that long, so I am watching them with the seasons jumbled up....back and forth....and I do see a difference in SOME things....Karen's voice IS higher...but I like it...I think it adds to her character!....and makes Meghan herself kind of mysterious cuz you want to see her do other stuff so you can hear what she's really like!....I think as far as Will goes....(just my opinion) they throw stuff like that in there every once in awhile for fun....Every one knows that if you spend a lot of time with someone you pick of some of the way they act.... A lot of people also have their things....like, a few things here and there that no matter how laid back you are, they make you go crazy!!!...I think they put those things in to make Will a little more fun! I like it...I haven't seen an episode yet that I didn't like!!

Ha I just thought of something. Everybody knows Karen's character has changed from what it was in the first few episodes. Her voice went up and all. She has mutated into Patsy and Eddy from "Absolutely Fabulous!" Since they're so keen on having all these guest stars on the show, I think Patsy and Eddy should guest star so Karen will finally meet her match! Wouldn't that make a great episode?

Hmmm....maybe Will writing a letter to Justin Timberlake was stretching it a little. And didn't he make a comment about the Hilary Duff/Lindsay Lohan feud?? I can see where you're going with that...he has changed a little but not so much to make a significant difference.
