Title: Division of Happiness

Disclaimer: These characters aren't mine. I'm just borrowing them for a while!

Author's Note: None

Spoilers: None

Summary: Nate finds out what true happiness is made up of.

Rating: R

Nate slowly walked through the aisles of a drug stores a couple blocks away from his girl friends apartment. He stop in the medicine aisles with a confused look on his face. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was looking for. He picked up several boxes reading them before placing them right back on the shelf. His confusion soon turned into frustration he didn’t know what to get everything seem to say the same thing: Used for headache, muscle ache, fever, menstrual cramps and his girlfriend didn’t have any of these symptoms all she had was nausea and dizziness. With a fear of giving her the wrong medicine he walked to the Pharmacist station in the back of the store.

“Excuse me.” Nate said clearing his voice to get the Pharmacist attention.

“ Hi what can I do for you?” the Pharmacist smiled.

“I’m looking for some medicine for my girlfriend and I’m not sure what to get.”

“Okay tell me her symptoms and I’ll see what I can come up with.”

“Well she keeps throwing up and she said that she was a little dizzy.”

“Is she more tired then usual?” Nate thought about the question for a moment then answered.

“Yeah I guess, but she has been throwing up a lot so that can make anybody exhausted right.” he chuckled sarcastically

“Well there are two things I can think of. One she might have the flu, but I’m doubting that for the simple fact it’s summer and we don’t get the flu around here until late fall. The second thing was she could be pregnant.” He said practically grinning.

“Pregnant?” he asked in almost a whisper.

“To be on the safe side let me get you a pregnancy test and some Advil cold and sinus just in case it is the flu or allergies okay?” The pharmacist said when saw what looked like a scared expression on Nate face.
Nate lost the ability to talk so he just nodded. He paid for both items and slowly walked back to his car still in shock that he could be somebody’s father.

He drove up to his girlfriend’s apartment building and parked his car directly across the street like always but he didn’t get out.

What the hell is wrong with me? I never get this sick. Last time I felt this is when I was pregnant with….she stopped her thought not wanting to get depressed about having the abortion. She turn over and tried to go to sleep but her earlier thought haunted her. I couldn’t be pregnant could I…I mean I know it’s possible but me and Nate are careful. Yeah I can’t be it’s probably the flu or something . She thought trying to reassure herself but if didn’t seem to work because within minutes she found herself in tears at the thought of being pregnant again.

Nate slowly made his way up to his girlfriend’s apartment. He unlocked the door and walked in only to see his lover on the couch crying.

“Baby, what’s wrong… do, do you want to go to the hospital? Nate asked panicking as ran over to her.

“No .” is all she managed to say between sobs. Nate sat next her and pulled her into a hug and started to caress her back.

“Then why are you crying , and what are you doing out of bed?” He asked, his voice full of concern. She calmed down enough to explain.

“I couldn’t fall asleep after you left so I came in here.” she said trying to ignore his first question.

“Okay…Then why are you crying?” she didn’t answer. “Tell me…Please, you know I‘ll do everything in my power to help.”

She didn’t know how was she gonna explain to him why she was crying but after he said that she knew she should at least try.

“Nate…Nate I’m scared.” she cried

“Scared of what?” he questioned.

“That I…that I might…” her voice faded.

“That you might what?”

“That I might be pregnant. “

It might be awhile before i can update this fic since i'm so backed up on my other fic's. But to be fare I will give you guys a hint on who it is (or who it's not): it's not CD(yet

Abby: (Hugs Michael) Congratulations. A baby. (She starts walking past Karen.) Karen: (Still in shock) A baby? Abby: (does a double take). And... Karen....that means your going to be a...(starts laughing but trying to stop herself...but she just keeps laughing. Kate: Abby I don’t think you want to be laughing right now. Abby: (still trying to keep herself from laughing, but can’t help herself from laughing). : I can’t help it....(laughs) It’s just kind of struck me funny. (still laughing). Karen: Brian, why don’t you share your wonder full news with your mother. Brian: (trying to keep a striate face as well Gary, and Val give each other a high five. And everyone is laughing at this point. Brian clears his throat ) Ahemmm... ( the camera goes back to Karen and Abby. Abby realizes what’s going on now, and isn’t happy at all while Karen and everyone else is cracking up! Gary: (Camera shot back really quick to Gary, Val, Brain, and Kate. Jokingly Gary says) Grandma!(camera goes back to Karen and Abby, and once again everyone is laughing, and the picture freeze on the two of them and end of show).
