Okay, the story within the show leads us to see Mark is with Becky and David is with Darlene. As we know, Roseanne mentioned it was the other way around but wrote it as we saw because she felt they were better off that way.
Well, the first Healy brother introduced was Mark in season three. We don't see David until season four. Which Conner sister found her Healy first? In other words, whose story was first in the encounters: the Healys or the Conners? This is my analyzing: Since Becky was 15 going on 16 in season three and Darlene was 13 going on 14, it would make sense Becky met David first (because the season before has Darlene not very much into dating). What makes it even more true in my theory is the next year when Darlene fades to black she seems very depressed and even withdrawn. Mark kinda shows those characteristics, so my guess is Darlene met Mark during that era. |

very interested topic!
I think quite possibly, in Roseanne's "real world", Mark was the younger and David was the older brother. |

![]() You have a good point as well. David may have been the older brother. It makes sense because all the boys Becky dated in seasons one and two had to have been in the same grade as she was, so David was a bit older and the older brother. Very interesting.... |
