Default I actually liked that song!! From the VH1 Awesomely Bad list

pick more than 1 if you like more than 1. Of the songs VH1 dubbed the 25 worst ever, which ones do you actually like?

"The Heart Of Rock And Roll" and "Don't Worry Be Happy." I elaborate a bit more in another thread.

"Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" isn't bad, either.

Maybe they deserved to be on the 50 Worst List, but I liked 'em - mostly for nostalgic reasons... And if "Don't Worry Be Happy" hadn't been played over and over and over and OVER, I might still like it today. Not the worst but yeah, it made me want to stick a pencil in my ear after the 100th time.

"We Built This City"

"Everybody Have Fun Tonight"

"The Heart of Rock and Roll" - never should've been on this list.

"The Final Countdown"

"I'm Too Sexy"

"Dancing on the Ceiling"

"Sussudio"

I don't get why WE BUILT THIS CITY is so universally hated now. I thought the song was totally fun, and I loved it (but I was 6 years old at the time of it's release). People do convieniently forget that the song that this song completely re-energized (Jefferon Airplane/Jefferson) Starship's career and caused them to have hits for the rest of the decade. I can see why the song didn't win a Grammy, but I certainly don't think it was so awful either.

I don't really like YOU'RE THE INSPIRATION but if they wanted a bad Chicago song, why not go for the slew of post-Cetera hits? Their early/mid 80's songs with Cetera were good IMO

I think that "You're The Inspiration" by Chicago is a good song.

I don't like it, either. Jefferson Airplane was a great band, but (Jefferson) Starship just sounds like a lot of other cookie-cutter '80s blech. A far cry from "White Rabbit," "Volunteers," "Somebody To Love" and "The Other Side Of This Life."

I don't get it, either. You make very good points, and I agree all the way.

Though I considered adding that one, I feel the same way. Any song after Peter Cetera left, in my opinion, would be far more worthy than "You're The Inspiration."

another one on the list I actually liked (tho agree that it's cheesy) was Final Countdown by Europe.

You know, the first time I saw the video, I thought Tina Turner was going into a heavy metal direction, LOL. Since the lead singer did look like her, lol

Omg..

I'll never look at that video (nor will I ever hear the song) the same way again now. "The Heart of Rock and Roll" and "The Final Countdown" are probably the only songs that made me do a double-take when they were mentioned. As cheesy as it is, I love that song.

here's a picture of Tina Turner circa 1986 (Break Every Rule cover) and a picture of the guy from Europe circa 1986... can you see why a 7 year old would confuse the two? lol

Looking at the two, I can definately see it now.

Well, I used to think that a woman was singing "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" before realizing, years later...that it was actually Meat Loaf. Needless to say, I felt just a little silly.

Default I actually liked

Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (for the "Under Pressure" sample)
Eddie Murphy - Party All The time
Will Smith - Will 2K (for the "Rock The Casbah" sample)
Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy (campy fun)
Chicago - You're The Inspiration
Sisqo - Thong Song (campy fun)
Phil Collins - Sussudio
Michael Jackson - You Rock My World

I never liked We Built This City, and I feel the same way as Chuck D. does about Don't Worry Be Happy (...was a number one jam, damn if I say that you can slap me right HERE)

I love the Spin Doctors. They faded out far too fast.
