2004 is the year of the comeback for old school soul stars of the 1980's. First Prince has a hit album, then Teena Marie has a hit album.
And Rick James sort of makes a comeback, thanks to "Chappelle's show" making the phrase "I'm Rick James bitch.!" a national catchprase. 2004 is starting to look like 1984. Who is the next soul preformer to make a comeback? If I had to pick one, why not Jody Watley. She can use the show "Soul Train" to plug her work anytime she wants, being a former "Soul Train" dancer. |
