Default Looks like the Switch to California from Milwaukee was a Good Move because during

the 79-80 season, the season after the show was just #1, L&S finished the 79-80 season beyond the top 30. After moving the cast to CA, the show managed to finished the last 3 seasons in the Top 30

80-81-#20
81-82-#25
82-83-#27

So it looks like the show would have been PULLED before 1983 if the setting remained the same.

Default Actually...

The reason the show fell out of the top ten was because ABC stupidly moved it to Thursdays. As soon as they saw the ratings dip so severly, they moved it to Mondays, and finally back to Tuesdays after Happy Days. Some of the audience came back, but probably not because they moved to California. Most fans agree those episodes are lame.

I always wondered why L&S was moved to Thursday Nights when it did so well on Tuesday from 76-79.

Somehow I managed to follow the show while it got switched around so much. And this was when my family didn't get TV Guide, so I'm kind of surprised that my parents knew the show's different time slots. However it happened, I never missed an episode!

Speaking of time slot switches, ABC did the same thing to Mork & Mindy. It was a big hit on Thursdays, then the next season it was moved to Sundays and lost a huge chunk of its audience! And the networks still continue to do this

That's because ABC was confident that Archie Bunkers Place couldn't compete with Mork and Mindy on Sunday Nights and they were wrong.

You won't find out until July. Lifetime replaced the 11:30 am episodes of L&S with the Golden Girls so now we only get 5 eps a week instead of 10.

Like "Archie Bunker's Place," "Laverne and Shirley" did not get a series finale. Following Cindy William's unceremonious departure, the series limped along for the rest of the season before mercifully being cancelled by ABC. NBC's "A-Team" proved too much for this then painful to watch show. What made it all the more sad was remembering the previous 6 years through the daily reruns and seeing the show in its glory years again. Oh how the mighy had fallen...

The A-Team must have been really interesting because Three's Company could not compete with it either.

The dumbest thing about the A-Team was they used all sorts of guns and weapons on the bad guys, and no one ever got shot! The A Team also had to give MR. T a tranquilizer or something to get on a plane. I guess this big tough 220 pound man was afraid to fly.

Watching Mr. T as a kid, i always thought he was strange looking because of that stupid haircut and all that jewelery he would wear.

He did have that catchphrase "I pity the fool" That was funny. You should hear him sometime on Howard Stern. He goes nuts. He talks a million miles a minute. The funny thing is, he's not playing a character on a show, it's just him. Funny stuff.
