Default 1974 TV Guide Review of THAT'S MY MAMA

We Like the Show

The Show has a new comedy Location-Washington D.C.

Characters in this show handle situations with Taste

The actress who plays MAMA is wonderful

The Daughter in this show can hold her own.

By Cleveland Amory

The Viewers didn't feel the same way as the show was AXED a year later in 75.

i've never seen reruns but this show seems like it could've had a decent run like 1974-1980 or something...

THe thing that seperated THat's my Mama from the other black shows-Good Times, Jeffersons, and Sanford and Son was that it was a LAID BACK Black Comedy.

Thumbs up

Isaac from the Love Boat got his start on this comedy, it was pretty good. Not sure why it wasn't given a chance.

Probably because the show was kind of DRY. THe character that Issac from the Love Boat played was really the only reason to watch That's My Mama. His classic entrance-"I GOT IT, I GOT IT, and I GOSTA TO REPORT IT"-LOL

I wish they would release the few episodes they did on DVD. Add some commentary from the surviving cast members and there you have it. I'd be first in line to purchase.

Well the show just didn't have a few eps, actually the total number of episodes was 39. Out of the 39 eps, i only found 8 of them and still on the hunt for more. I'm really interested in seeing season 1.

That's so weird. Why is this show so hard to find? I can see if it was made in the 1930's. Its like Columbia Pictures Television want us to forget about this show.

Probably because That's My Mama hasn't been in syndication since the 1980's.

thats my mama would've been a major hit if it aired on cbs the same network as good times and the jeffersons or nbc on the friday night line up with sanford and son and chico and the man.
i remember watching this show in 1986 and it holds its own with the best sitcoms of the mid 1970s.

I need to see more eps of season 1. So far all the eps I seen are eps from season 2.

Are yu saying that because you compared his Review of That's My Mama to his Review of the Jeffersons?
