Default 6th season was the worst

I really like this show and watched every episode this season. I found this season to be the worst of the 6. It seems like the writers are running out of ideas. I noticed this at the last half of season 5. How long does this Eric-Donna engagement have go on? This season has really tired me of this engagement. My goodness, enough with this crap about Eric and Donna's sex life. I also found fewer laughs in this season than any other. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 were the peak of this show. Season 5 dropped off a little but still had some great moments. Looks like season 7 will be the last, hopefully it will be better than season 6.

I also think it is time for Kelso to mature a little bit. I like his goofiness somethimes but I mean it is time for his character to evolve, like how Red's character evolve. Red chaned a little from being hard ass to mellowing out. Also, I think Eric, Donna, Fez, and Hyde should have went to college. It doesn't make any sense at all. Atleast have Hyde and Fez doing something, all they do is lay around. Yeah I know Red had a heartattack but Kitty works and Red should be getting disability. The writers should have made up some local cheap small college, like what another Wisoncin base sitcom, Step by Step. Atleast have Eric and Donna go to college and maybe even Fez, and have Hyde working.

What the heck does Jackie see in Hyde? This relationship was great in the beginning but it doesn't make any sense now. Jackie is high maintence and should have broke up with him when Hyde cheated on her. I am sure Jackie learned her lesson after Kelso cheated and left her. How much heartbreak does she need? Hyde seems like the type that would cheat again anyways.

In my mind the 4th season was outstanding. I can watch the reruns over and over again. Every thing was great in that season.

At the time of S4, I recall thinking it was crap. Now that I see the eps in syndication, though, I realize it wasn't that bad. Especially compared to S6. Geeze, this one takes the cake. At least in S4 the characters were...IN CHARACTER. For God's sake...end it already. Or better yet, just make it stop sucking. LOL

MusicWhore - I agree, but I thought season 4 was pretty good anyways after the finale. I remember there were a few people on the That 70's Show messageboard that said the reason they didn't like season 4 was becasue Donna and Eric weren't together. I feel like the cast was in top form in season 4. I have watched probably every episode in season 4 atleast 3 times. Season 3 and 4 are my favorite. I also think season 5 was great after watching it in syndication. They are showing season 5 reruns right now and the first 4 episodes were great in that season. I don't think it is even close that season 6 has been the worse. Don't get me wrong I still love the show but I think something was lacking in season 6.

The main reason why i didn't like season 4 was Donna's stupid additude all the time.

did u not see kelso in the last episode? obviously he is maturing enough to let brooke leave with his baby for awhile. he's always gonna be stupid lol. yeah red isnt a hard ass anymore and a lot of ppl dont like that cuz its not funny.

i think eric should go to college now cuz his dad is fine. donna is going to college and hyde...well come on! he doesnt want to go so why make him go. lol i dont think u pay too much attention to the show if u didnt know that the writers did make up a cheap college. point place junior college, does that ring a bell? theyve mentioned it and thats where donnas going. and did u forget its the 70s how many ppl do u think actually went to college. especially kids who sat around and smoked throughout highschool??

jackie isnt as high maintence as she use to be cuz of hyde. so thats good in a way. he cheated on her cuz he thought she cheated on him. yes it was wrong and stupid for him to just assume but **** happens. she loves hyde and thats why she was able to apologize. and the show has showed so many times how hyde could have cheated on jackie and he never does.

I do pay attention and have watched every episode, I just totally forgot about that Junior College. I seriously do not remember the college being mentioned at all. Still, Eric and Fez should have went to Junior College since the writers made it up. Yes, Hyde is one of those kids that just doesn't care for school but what else does he do other than sitting around? Those types of kids atleast got a job.

It was nice for the last episode that Kelso changed a little but the rest of the season he was just getting more stupid as each episode passed. Kelso still hasn't matured anyways, he was acting goofy at the dinner table. Don't get me wrong I love his antics most of the time.

I still think Red is funny. Like I said earlier his character had the evolve. If you have a lot of seasons of a sitcom the characters have to change some, especially somebody with Red's personality. Kind of like how Archie Bunker changed his views in All In the Family. Red can't be a hard ass screaming and yelling because of the heartattack. I think the writers did an outstanding job for Red for season 6. He had some funny moments with Jackie's mom.

Maybe Jackie is a little a naive because Kelso cheated on her numerous times and she took it. Any normal girl would have dumped Hyde for cheating after she had another relationship that was all about lies and cheating. Jackie should have dumped Hyde at the end of season 5 after he cheated on her. What exactly does Jackie have to apologize for? I don't think it makes any sense for them to be together anymore but they will probably end up getting married on the show like Eric and Donna.

I just wanted to add something about Jackie. In season 5 the writers should have just left out Hyde cheating on her. Jackie could still have feelings for Kelso, but in the end she had enough of Kelso and wanted to be Hyde. Much of the storyline at the end of season 5 could have stayed the same with Hyde and Kelso fighting over Jackie without the part of Hyde cheating.

they've mentioned it several times. they even mentioned donna going to college in the last episode lol. i think eric should go cuz it is in his town. and hyde does have a job. but we're only seeing glimpses into their lives. theyre not showing every minute of everyday.

but him maturing isnt funny lol. if he matured more than he is im sure the show would lose a lot of ratings. cuz the show is suppose to be funny not a bunch of kids who are stuffy adults lol. and a lot of the characters have evolved over the seasons.

yeah any normal girl who didnt understand how that could have happened. i think jackie saw that hyde made a terrible mistake and it wasnt just for the joy of having sex like kelso did. kelso was a whore lol. some ppl are able to forgive if they truely feel theyre sorry. and u could tell hyde was sorry. i dont think theyre get married on the show either and if they do thatd be dumb

Sorry about that mistake in the other post. I now do believe that the worst season by far was in fact season 6. Seasons 1-5 were by far a lot better. If in fact the 7th is the last (So as Will & Grace's last season too even though NBC is too freakin' greedy with those stunt casting and guest stars etc.) then both these shows will go out with a big BANG! Simply because I think that the whole Donna/Eric storyline is starting to faulter pretty much. I think that IMHO The only two good things are Jackie and Hyde/Kelso/Brooke. But I still think that Kitty/Red still have at least something in common!

Yeah, maybe I am a little harsh on Jackie and Hyde being together. Their relationship didn't bother that much this season but I still feel they shouldn't be together.

JD2635 - I agree, I just hope the writers can make season 7 atleast better than season 6. Make the show go out with a bang. Kelso has was OK I just felt like they could have toned him down a little bit, I already talked about him above. Jackie/Hyde was OK this season, I just feel like they should have broke up at end of season 5. Red/Kitty has been great, other than maybe too much of Kitty's drinking problem. Eric has been great this season (my favorite character for season 6). I also think Eric/Donna has faltered a little. I just think that Eric/Donna has lost some steam and interest. Fez has also been hilarious and has fit in well. I also like the Bob/Jackie's mom experiement and the appearance of Midge on Wednesday was a great surprise.

i think they've been focusing waaaayyy to much on fez being a pervert. i mean yeah we all know he is but he wasnt that big of a pervert than he was in season 6. i think thats the only thing they could really find for him to do lol. and since when does he like donna more than jackie??

Yeah, he has become even a bigger pervert. I am fine with that but I agree Fez was and should always be infatuated with Jackie. Kelso is the one that has always liked Donna.

Why Season 6 is the worst to me:

Kelso gets a girl pregnant: that is the worst thing you could do with an idiot character on a situation COMEDY. It turns it into a soap opera because now we have to always be reminded that this dope is a dad and has serious issues at hand.

Fez has nothing to do: and does it often- he is window dressing and has no point anymore.

Eric and Donna: hardly spoke to each other this season (go watch again if you don't believe me), and the whole getting married thing was stupid. At least just be together and get into some relationship scuffles, not some dragged out nonsense that didn't even result in a wedding. YOU NEVER TALKED.

Hyde: did he do anything this season either? He works at the restaurant but is still with Jackie who seems to have no other purpose but to tell everyone what she thinks.

Jackie: come to think of it, that is all Jackie ever did, but she was better with Kelso at least for laughs.

Kitty: Now the town joke? Should we just now call her Drunkie?
Still a good character being ruined by writers grasping for jokes.
And I mean that sincerely, that is a grasp.

Red: The only character to be true this season. Sure he has calmed down a bit, but his evolution is the most believable.

Ok, I had my rant.

By the way, season 4 is better than season 5 and season 6 is the worst.
