Diane: [stepping in cautiously and looking around in awe to see that the place looks the same] My, my...[she sees Sam and Lilith] My goodness. Hello, Sam, Lilith. It's been so long. My taxi was passing by here and I told him to stop when I saw the Cheers sign still hanging...just like it did 11 years ago. I thought to myself...wouldn't it be sad if everything were the same as they were before? The same old converstations at the bar...the same humdrum routines...the same people wearing out their days in the same bar...drinking themselves away...[people start to give her weird looks] And what a comfort it is!

Diane: [Smiles, unaware of any sarcasm] Well, I just came back from an interview at a publishing house. It's a pretty high up position! I'm moving back here, if I get the job. Isn't that wonderful? The best thing to do after a divorce is to completely change your life around! [drinks] How is everybody?

A reunion is a type of lens through which we are able to perceive how far we've all come - how much we've matured - how we've let go of our old habits, our old flaws [major eye rolling at her hypocrisy] - how we've all cleansed our spirits of the past.
