Hmm. Tough call.

I think Monica was a lot more anal retentive than Felix. You couldn't move anything in her apartment without her flipping out about it.

They should have done an episode where Felix Unger and Monica Geller meet. Since both "The Odd Couple" and "Friends" were set in New York City.

I'll say Monica is the bigger neat freak. For the reason that TJL gave.

Courteney herself said she had no idea when she signed on for Monica that the character would wind up as anal as she did

Yeah. Monica was a basket case by the time the series wrapped.

Oh, boy. I'd have to say the fastidious hypocondriac -- Felix Ungar. He was worse!! Much worse!

Well, I always remember the scene where it is like three in the morning and she is tossing and turning because she left her shoes in the middle of the room. She then screams "I need help!"

And I remember a scene in an episode of The Odd Couple where Felix Unger is in the hospital talking to the doctor complaining about the cutting of the umbilical cord of his child saying, "When you cut the chord I want the baby to have an innie belly button. Not an outie belly button." How's that for being particular with everything?

How is that being particular? I think most parents want to decide that.

The cutting of a cord has nothing to do with the navel turning into an outie or an innie.

To spice up this competition, add Frasier, Niles and Diane Chambers.

Frasier: look at his apartment - "THAT DAMN CHAIR" - and his need to display the magazines in that "insipid accordion design" ("Dinner at Eightish", Cheers)

Niles: OBVIOUS - every man who needs to dust his chair with a handkerchief before sitting down deserves a title.

Diane: who could forget her need to place her stuffed animals according to how they got along with each other - and of course, the infamous order of her pencils, pens and pad in her apron.

I'd say Niles is the biggest neat freak (or perhaps just the biggest freak), followed by Monica. But I'd say Diane is the biggest psycho...followed closely by Niles.

How is Monica worse? Felix is allergic to everything. EVERYTHING.
