Default Reunion Special

At the up-fronts for CBS today, it was mentioned that a reunion is coming up next season.

"The "One Day At A Time" reunion will bring together original cast members Bonnie Franklin, Pat Harrington Jr., Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli who will reminisce about their days together on the popular, long-running comedy about a single mother trying to raise two teenaged daughters. Vintage clips from the series will highlight the special."

If the special is successful in the ratings, I would bet that a cable network will start running the show again.

If it does good in the ratings. Maybe they will put it on dvd.

I saw Valerie on tv with her son. This show hasn`t been on in so long. Her son has never seen 1 episode. They said all he has ever seen is still photographs of the cast together.

It was a so so show for me. Valerie was married when the show was in production. Gosh must be 20 years ago she tied the knot. I did hear she and Eddie are apart. Wolf her son must be in his teens.

I find it hard to believe that her son has never seen a episode. Valerie or someone in her family must have taped them.

The show started in 75. It hasn`t been in syndication in years. Not as many people had vcrs in 84.

Kudos to CBS in wanting this reunion to happen.

Especially for MacKenzie Phillips participating in this reunion. I am proud to see how well she is doing in her recovery of her addiction. She looks fabalous and her acting is still tops. She was the heart of One Day At A Time. The episodes featuring her moved the show in a powerful way.

Anyhow I am looking forward to Bonnie, MacKenzie, Valerie and Pat getting together and look back at a show that I consider a classic and groundbreaking.

It hasn't been that long. It was syndicated on local channels after 1984 and it was on E during the 1990's.

This is great news. Hopefully this will revive interest in the show and it will be brought back to some cable channel.

They'll probably have the reunion special around the same time as the dvd release. I hope Glenn Scarpelli appears on the special, I'd like to see what he looks like now.

"The Amazing Race 6" will conclude with a two-hour finale on Tuesday, Feb. 8. A Dr. Phil special and a "One Day at a Time" reunion show will fill the time period on the two Tuesdays between the finale and "The Amazing Race 7's" premiere.

So it airs probably February 22nd on CBS.

ORIGINAL CAST MEMBERS BONNIE FRANKLIN, VALERIE BERTINELLI, MACKENZIE PHILLIPS AND PAT HARRINGTON REUNITE TO REMEMBER ONE OF TELEVISION'S CLASSIC COMEDY SERIES ON THE 'ONE DAY AT A TIME REUNION SPECIAL,' TO BE BROADCAST TUESDAY, FEB. 22 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

"THIS IS IT!!!"

ORIGINAL CAST MEMBERS BONNIE FRANKLIN, VALERIE BERTINELLI, MACKENZIE PHILLIPS AND PAT HARRINGTON REUNITE TO REMEMBER ONE OF TELEVISION'S CLASSIC COMEDY SERIES ON THE "ONE DAY AT A TIME REUNION SPECIAL," TO BE BROADCAST TUESDAY, FEB. 22 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

ONE DAY AT A TIME REUNION SPECIAL will reunite original "One Day at a Time" cast members Bonnie Franklin, Valerie Bertinelli, Mackenzie Phillips and Pat Harrington to reminisce about their days together on Norman Lear's popular, long-running comedy about a single, divorced mother raising two teenage daughters, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Vintage clips from the series will highlight the special.

In the reunion special, Bonnie Franklin (Ann Romano), Valerie Bertinelli (Barbara Cooper) and Mackenzie Phillips (Julie Cooper) reminisce about their days on the series that mirrored what was happening in society in the 1970s. They discuss the serious issues the show addressed -- divorce, teen sex, peer pressure and marriage -- as well as the fashion and hairstyles worn at the time and how their on-screen struggles often reflected what was happening in their off-screen lives. Pat Harrington, (Dwayne Schneider) also joins them to talk about how his character protected the three women, his outrageous entrances into the Romano apartment and Schneider's secret crush on Ann.

In separate interviews, recurring cast members Richard Masur (David Kane), Shelley Fabares (Francine Webster), Nanette Fabray (Grandma Katherine Romano), Michael Lembeck (Max Horvath) and Glenn Scarpelli (Alex Handris) share their feelings about their time on the show and their characters' relationships with Ann, Barbara and Julie.

ONE DAY AT A TIME, which ran on CBS from 1975-1984, followed Ann Romano, who moved with her two teenage daughters, Julie and Barbara Cooper, back to her hometown of Indianapolis to start fresh after her divorce. The three of them take on life challenges and learn to make it on their own by taking things one day at a time.

ONE DAY AT A TIME REUNION SPECIAL was produced by Planet Grande Pictures in association with Grossbart Kent Productions. Jack Grossbart ("Heartless"), John Watkin ("The Andy Griffith Reunion: Back to Mayberry") and Eamon Harrington ("The Andy Griffith Reunion: Back to Mayberry") are the executive producers. John Watkin directed the special.
