It seemed that way. They even stopped eating oatmeal after he left. I can't remember ever hearing it again. They were still living in the projects, but they weren't as down in the dumps. James made everyone feel bad with his daily sadness.

Perhaps there was some life insurance money from James' death?
Maybe not a lot since he probably couldn't afford a luxurious policy, but he might have had a small one... Ed |
