I havn't written anything on this story for a long, long time. I just re-read my earler chapters and cracked up laughing! I had no idea they were so funny until just now! So...here's hoping I can contunue that...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fonzie drove slower then useal. In truth, he was really unsure about this. The conversation with Courtney over the phone fully qualified as the weirdest of his life. He wished that he, at any rate, knew what she looked like. This was what he got for not asking more questions... The temptation to turn arround and go home was strong. Still...he'd stood a girl up in his life, and he wasn't gonna start tonight over a stupid test. A test. Why did he keep remembering that's what this was? Heather hadn't even made a big deal of it...and it stuck out in his memory. Oh yeah...it was because Courtney had so sucessfully messed with his mind on the phone. Fonzie turned into the parking lot, and took an unoccupied space. Typically he would've come on his motercycle...but something in Courtney's voice told him she would demand respect. He'd even cancled their reseveration in favor of a less romantic setting. A first for him in years. He hadn't even met her...and she'd already caused more firsts then anyone he'd ever dated before. Steping slowly out of the car he'd driven from his shop...Fonzie fought to calm himself. He needed to start acting like this was a normal date, fast. His stride quicking at that thought, Fonzie soon found himself at the door he had once assoicated with being Heather's appartment. Now he was mentally refering to it as Courtney's appartment. She was affecting him already...and he hadn't even laid eyes on her yet. What was wrong with him? A quick rap on the door...and Fonzie braced himself for the answer to that question. ********** Courtney bit back sevreal unladylike phrases when she heard the knock. She hadn't intended to go all out apparence-wise...but she also didn't want Fonzie to see her like this! A single curler was in her bangs, covering her forehead, and she hadn't finished her braids yet. Why she'd wanted to go in braids was suddenly lost on her...and she franticly began taking her hair out of them, combing through it with her fingers. "Just a minute!" she called, praying her voice didn't betray how freaked out she was. ********** Fonzie shifted from foot to foot outside the doorway. Just a minute? Yeah...he was in for an intresting date if she kept messing with him like this. He was half-tempted to just walk in...but the possibility that she was actully doing something and not just keeping him on his toes prevented him. That, and of course his concious insisting it would be just rude. The door opened suddenly, and Fonzie's brain instantly shut down. He was use to being arround georgious girls...but there was something toatlly diffrent about Courtney. Her dark hair hung in waves arround her shoulders and her eyes sparkled in that pretty way he absoutly went nuts for...not to mention her smile... Alright, that was it. Enough letting her control his every move. Fonzie instantly said "You look great." alright...not much a diffrence there from his thoughts...but a typical way to open a date. Courtney studdied him for a moment, before saying "Thanks." For a moment, they just stood their, studying eachother. Then Courtney said "Well? You said something about an 8:00 reseveration..." Fonzie nodded, then realizing what she had said shook his head abruptly. "Uhh...yeah, but I cancled it. Figured a girl like you would prefer something more open-ended." "I'd ask you what you mean by that." Courtney responded, steping out and shutting the door behind her "But I have a feeling I don't want to know." and with that, she took off down the hallway, towards the parking lot. He needed to get a grip. Badly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't ask me why I wrote the story like this. maybe 'cause I figured Fonzie isn't the type to enjoy mindgames...but it's also fimrly established in the show he isn't the type to back down from a challange. That phone call...while Helerious for Courtney, really set Fonzie on edge. Yeah...don't ask why I felt compelled to explain that. |
