Angry Nick Stop Censoring the Eps

I don't know if others feel this way but I am sick and tired of Nick at Nite not showing some important episodes of "Different Strokes." I am namely referring to the following episodes: The eps where Arnold and Kimberly are held captive after being picked up for hitchhiking, the eps where Sam is kidnapped, the eps where Arnold is mugged, and the eps where Kimberly returns from Paris and is discovered to have Bullimia. I have not seen many of these episodes since they originally aired on NBC and would love to see them again but Nick will not air these. I guess they can be deemed too controversial and the like but I think they should run.

The same can be said with the "Facts of Life" episode where an Eastland student kills herself, I could be mistaken but I do not think Nick aired that one either. What do you think about these "censored" eps of DS and FOL?

Thumbs down

I think they need to air those episodes to. It's been years since I've seen them to. I wish they would. I'm afraid they won't though. I wish another station like TBS or USA would pick Diff'rent Strokes up though.

I think they can handle any episode of Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, All in the Family, whatever. I say that because I'm watching a Nick at Nite special where kids are talking about the World Trade Center bombing and they're around 10=12 years old. Now if they can discuss the terrorism, I think they can watch the stupid bulumia episode. I mean really! The whole censorship thing is ridiculous.

Now they may be doing it for the real little kids; I don't know. If so, I have a few suggestions: PBS, Romper Room, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Have them watch that or the Disney Channel and leave the sitcoms alone .

I'll have you know that kids I bet saw people jumping out the buildings of the WTC For Real! And we have to explain that to our kids! For Real! Now it is a tragedy and a terrible thing, but I'll have N@N know that's life. And with God's help, counseling, whatever they'll get through. By comparison, this whole business of the FOL episode is Nothing. Look stuff happens and you have to deal with it. Kids are no different.

Now the real little kids should be protected from images like this but other than that I see NO Reason why these shows should be censored.

And if these shows were safe enough to show in the 70s, like Bicycle Man, then they're safe now. Heck they're rated G compared to what we saw on the news this past week. Now this applies for both N@N and the syndicators that do editing for this kind of stuff.

And my classic edit occurs on the Silver Screen! That's right the movies on TBS etc. Here it is:

Flip you! replaces F-- you

I rest my case.

At one time, when Diff'rent Strokes was
aired in the mornings, it showed a few
of the controversial episodes, but it
wasn't on N@N. As far as N@N, they have
shown a few episodes that are controversial, I'm not sure if this is
considered controversial, but they have
shown where Arnold and Willis were held
hostage in a bank.
