Talking Pen Pal!

I just got the chance to see Pen Pal undubbed and all I've to say is: lol lol lol! I love that episode! I like that there's a plotline for both - M/F and /NCC! Fran looks so great in that episode. I love that dress! And of course I love the cluck-like-a-chicken scene!! Daniel and Lauren are both hilarous! I like their little grins through this scene! And now I also was able to see the scene that is posted at the Nanny Museum in the "kontext" of the story!! Well, I better stop ramblin' I'm still a little jumpy! *g*

It's funny you should mention "Pen Pal." It was on just this morning. I'm so glad you finally got to see it undubbed, Rill! Even a confirmed M/F fan like me would have to love the chicken scene! It's a good thing no one was home this morning when I was watching it, b/c I was quoting all the lines and laughing hysterically at the chicken thing! LOL!

I also love the M/F plot as well. I agree about Fran. I think season 3 was a really good one for her, hair-wise LOL. I love to watch Max get jealous of Lenny. And I loved Niles putting words into Max's mouth. One of my favorite lines: "I believe you fakakta it up, sir." Hehehe. Gotta love that Niles!

There are just soo many great things in this ep! Now it's my turn to stop rambiling, LOL.

Cool

Yes! I know it was aired for you! Actually I was able to see your Lifetime version of it. A friend got it for me! Yahoo! I was so happy to see this episode! The scene with Max and Niles is great! I like how Niles promted Max' lines! It was hilarious. They all have such a great feeling for timing!

The chicken part is the best of course! I love it undubbed a lot more and you know what... I really enjoyed hearing the audience! It gets lost here, too. (We have laughters but they are not the real ones.) To hear the people crack up is just too funny! They really love that scene and the kiss, too!! lol Oooh! And I loved how Niles and CC say good-bye! CC: "Maxwell. Fanny Nine...." and to Niles: "Swine!" Niles: "Chicken!" lol

I agree that there are so many good things in that epi. I'm sure I'll be able to quote the whole thing very soon, too. BTW I also loved Fran's line before Niles says: "I believe you fakakta it up, sir."
Max: "Oh Miss Fine! You look beautiful!"
Fran: "Yeah, but I'm all verschwitzt." lol

Awww, I guess I'm gone for watching it again! *g

I just remembered another great line, as Max and Fran are entering the Russian Tea Room:

Max:Miss Fine, there is no need to be so trepidatious.
Fran:I'm sorry, it's just that I'm so nervous!

And how can you not love Max's pick-up lines? "The first one's simply, 'Maxwell Sheffield, Broadway Producer.'" "What's the second one?" "'How do you like your eggs?'" He was soo flirting w/ Fran, and he didn't even realize what he was doing! Too cute!

This morning we also had "Fran Gets Mugged." I wanted to strangle Niles for interrupting at the end!! He could've stayed tied up an extra minute or two, couldn't he?! Those "almost-kisses" between Max and Fran are so frustrating! But then, they're also what makes the show interesting hehe.

Yes! Max flirting in Pen Pal is really cute! I also laughed about Fran not getting it that Lenny left because of Max and not because of the other guy. )

Fran Gets Mugged! I like this episode! It's so cool when CC finds out about Fran and the Shakespeare piece. lol I also hated the interruption of the kiss! Boy! Couldnt Niles wait just a little bit longer! That's really one of the first very cool F/M moments IMHO. You are right: the M/F relation lives from scenes like that!!

Yesterday we had "You Bette Your Life"! Better Midler is great! I liked when she is chasing Fran!! This boy is so cute and I liked that scene with Gracie. Of course it's her task to solve the problem! I liked the tender moment between her and the boy at the piano! Oooh! And I loooved Fran's dress in that scene! Wasn't that a cute one? And it fitts the plot, too! lol

Last night's eps. on Lifetime were "Not Without My Nanny" and "The Engagement." Two of my all-time favorites! "Fran, I love you." AAAH! Who doesn't melt at that? Charlie was great in the dual role. I remember I didn't even realize it was him the first time I saw it!

I kind of wish Max's proposal had been a bit more romantic. That's why I wrote an alternate-ending fic for "The Engagement." But I do love his "conversation" with Sara. "She reminds me of....no one you've ever met." hehe.

Same goes for me! I didn't notice that Charles had a dual role in "Not Without My Nanny" when I watched it the first time. In fact I was still wondering when I watched it the second time. I loved the engagement. It was a big episode in Nanny history. I also expected that Max proposal would have been more romantic but at least I liked it the way it was. I thought it was cute that Fran loved that "alternative" ring so much in the next episode.

I agree: the conversaton with Sara was great. I found it quite cool that we see the actress from "I don't remember Mama". That's quite unusual, I think! BTW Didn't Charles state at his website that this was one of his favorite scenes? I think I've read it "somewhere".

No "new" episode here yesterday because we had a holiday. I watched "Making Whoopi" instead! That's a fun episode! I liked the effects of the chinese stuff! Wasn't Val amazing? lol I liked her scene with Gracie! Of course Niles and CC where fun, too. Favorite line:

C.C.: What's that Nanny Fine? Slim Fast?
Fran: No, Swim Fast!

I haven't seen "Making Whoopi" in awhile, but I agree about the Slim Fast/Swim fast line! Being an M/F fan, I never know quite what to make of that scene where Niles and C.C. eat the Chinese cookies. It's funny, but it's also kind of weird, you know? (Then again, considering it's Niles and C.C., what can you expect?)

Last night I saw "The Reunion Show." One of my favorite lines:

Fran:Why doesn't he want to have a baby with me? Is there some trait of mine he's afraid I'll pass on to our children? (Whines) What could it beeee?!

This isn't really one of my favorites, but I did enjoy seeing Ray Romano. I guess I'm not really fond of a lot of the eps. after "The Engagement" until, of course, the wedding! I think, once we knew they were engaged, we just wanted them to hurry up and get married already! LOL! Just my opinion.

Yes! I know what you mean about the N/CC scenes in Making Whoopi. I really liked the weirdness of Niles' and CC's relationship and though that the scenes where funny. I thought it was cool that the cookies did not infect Max but Niles and CC. lol It was unexpected! I also think "they" did it to please the N/CC fans. Just my humble opinion though. I though it was funny when they had their second scene with the kids sitting at the kitchen table and Maggie states "Do we have to worry about them?"

Aaaah! Thanks for quoting the line from The Reunion Show! That gets lost in the dubbed version! I even didn't remember that! Cool line! lol (Please go on quoting! lol)

I agree with you about 5th season. It isn't a favorite of mine either. I thought that there weren't so many cool episodes and also not so many good N/CC scenes and moments due to Lauren Lane's pregnancy. I thought Niles and CC went back into a more "cruel" relation here and I didn't like that much. I really missed their light-hearted fights but of course they had to do it to get a reason why Lauren would miss some episodes. I understand what you say about the M/F relation. After they got together one was waiting for the Wedding. I did too and it was worth waiting. I love The Wedding Part Two! This episode really had a lovely atmosphere!

Oh, no, don't get me wrong, I love season 5. It's just that they seemed to kind of go through a "weak" period after the engagement. Although I do like "The Pre-Nup." I love the fact that Max was willing to trust Fran with his most valuable possession: His kids. I mean, sure, they've been hers already for 5 years, but now he was making it official.

I think you're right about the N/CC fans and "Making Whoopi." I know that some of the writers of TN actually used to visit the RUNHP, so they were probably well aware of the N/CC fans. It must have been tricky for the writers to figure out what to do with them, b/c I don't think anyone would want to see them go "soft" and stop the insults. You'd have to find a way to get them together and not lose the banter. I think they did that as best they could in season 6.

I see about 5th season, Kristen. I didn't know that some writers read the RUNHP! That's great that they paid attention to the fans! Wow! I'd love to know what they read and what inspired them to develop the characters? Do you know if any of them ever posted at the board? I wonder also if the actors knew about the site and visited it, too? I read at The Nanny Zone that Laura printed her site and brought it to a taping. I wonder if Barb did that too? Who knows! At least it's interesting to know that the staff paid attention to the fans via internet! Amazing! I agree about Niles and CC: probably no one wants to see them getting soft. Their relation lives from fighting.

Krista! I think I've seen Pen Pal maybe four of five times and it still made me laugh. lol Watching it the first time in English was probably the best. I like this episode although it's not my *most* favorite one... I think. I also like Max and Niles' scene very much.

Hey, Krista! Nice to see you outside the "Wings" board hehe. Welcome! We always like to see new faces around here.

Rill, If you read the comments on the episodes, esp. the later ones, you'll see some comments by Rick Shaw, who was one of TN's writers. He apparently visited the RUNHP. As for the actors, I'd assume Ben visited it at some point, just b/c he seems to be so up on these things!

Also, I read an update about the "Nanny" reunion on Madeline Zima (Grace)'s website. It said on there that the reunion will film in June, and I assume it'll be aired next fall! Can't wait!

Default Pen Pal!

Since we just got the bad news about the DVD, I thought I should cheer everyone up by letting you know that The Nanny Museum (http://nannymuseum.fr.st) has put up a video clip of the famous "chicken" scene to download! I definitely recommend checking it out.

Aww, I read that about the DVD, too. Too bad! But I thought something like that would happen. They always said they aren't sure about the August date. I'm sure they will release the DVD as soon as they could fix the problems. At least they know now that the fans are waiting for it!

I still have great hopes for the Nanny reunion. It's quite cool that it's annouced at the Zima Sisters website! I hope it'll be at Charles' site soon, too. Can't wait to get more news about it. I hope they plan a cast gathering with lost of Nanny scenes, talk and bloopers! I hope all cast members will be there, too!

Yahoo! I just checked the Nanny museum and saw that there's the elivator scene from 6th season posted! I got so excited and downloaded it! I wanted to see *this* scene and it's really cool!! This webmistress has a great sense in choosing scenes! Thanks for the update, Kristen!

Interesting about the RUNHP board! I thought that maybe the kids have checked it out. Did Ben comment anything about it? I'll check the board for Rick Shaw. Should be interesting to read what he had to say!

Oops! Now I'm really off-topic! lol
