Default Roseanne being compared to Shrek

I saw a commerical on Nick at Nite and they said to celebrate Shrek 2 coming out they will have a marathon of Nick at Nite's resident ogre Roseanne Conner. Is that mean i know it's supposed to be funny though.

Yeah, sounds kind of mean to me, but I think that the "extreme make-under" thing was really mean too. They are putting down the actors when they do that sort of thing.

Personally, I hate Shrek. It is the most immature movie I've ever seen. I can't handle the fart jokes and other bathroom humor. That's stuff that you just don't joke about, even if its with an ogre and a donkey.

And that commercial form Nick@Nite is extremely rude. If you have seen Roseanne Barr recently, she is nothing like an ogre. My parents and grandparents still compare me to Roseanne when I complain about something or eat to much at a meal. Roseanne has definetely changed with age. I think that her 8 year old son really changed her.

I agree. Roseanne is kind of like an ogar, shes mean, nasty, and rude. If they called her a jerk, that would be mean.

did anyone at N@N actually SEE the last few seasons of Roseanne? She was never exactly a "tv babe" like Jennifer Aniston or Brooke Shields, but I thought she looked incredible the last few seasons, she came a long way from season 1 IMO. Hardly an ogre IMO

I thought it was a tad overboard... but hubby liked it, LOL! He loves the show, but thinks Roseanne is a fat loudmouth and doesn't like her. I can't blame him....I think she reminds him of his ex wife, LOL!!!

I liked the "make-under" marathon. It made me laugh. And I think it's what Roseanne was all about... middle class "white trash". But yeah...the ogre thing bugged me last night too.

That's the real world dear. People are often mean and cold. Everything's not like your favourite show Full House where everyone hugs after each scene and tells corny G rated jokes. Roseanne kept it real if anything just like All In The Family and Maude before.

I dont think they were calling her an ogre because of her looks, I think it was her personality. I could be wrong though. if they called her an ogre because of her looks THAT would be mean.
