Angry Canceled

Saw a list from some newspaper that has IWH as a "goner" for next season. Damn shame. Rot in hell ABC.

Yep, it's official. Back, back, back, back, GONE! Can't believe it. They put this show up against AI then decide to pull it? If you ask me, they never really gave it a fair shot. No marketing. Nothing. Anyway. it's typical for a fourth place network. Clearly, they have no idea what they're doing. And it shows. This was the only abc show I watched. So now I don't even have to stop by when channel surfing. Good luck to Teri, David, Danny and Rhea. You guys all rock!

If this is true - and I won't believe it until I read it in my own newspaper for myself - this is another reason to hate Disney. First they stop Michael Moore's new movie from being distributed, than they give Jessica Simpson a sitcom on ABC, now they're cancelling "I'm With Her?" I HATE THE MOUSE!

I kind of expected this news, anyway.

It looks like ABC wants to cut back on their sitcoms this fall. This season only 8 will be on the air this fall, with 6 of them returning sitcoms. As of now, I'm With Her, is not one of the six.

Upfront is tomorrow and everything will be official then.
Read ABC's pre-upfront plan here:

ABC is just about done tweaking its fall line-up. The line-up will be released tomorrow, and so far it's looking like these shows will make it:

New sitcoms:
Mel Gibson's "Savages"
Rodney Carrington's "That's Just Rodney"

New sitcoms in consideration for mid-season:
Jennifer Love Hewitt Project
"I Married Sofia"
"Full Circle"

Note: Jessica Simpson's sitcom was doing well in testings up until recently, and that might be a reason it will not make it. Although, word is she will have her variety specials for every sweep period.

Dramas being considered for fall and mid-season:
"Lost" (could be for mid-season when Alias is in reruns)
"Desperate Housewives"
"Life As We Know It" (AKA: "Doing It")
The Practice Spin-off
"Grey's Anatomy"
"Blind Justice"
"Eyes"
Lots of dramas this year, I can see why, as they look great this year.

New Reality Show: "Wife Swap"

Reality returning: "The Bachelor," "Extreme Makeover," "America's Funniest Home Videos," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Sitcoms returning: "My Wife & Kids," "George Lopez," "According to Jim," "Less Than Perfect," "8 Simple Rules" and "Hope and Faith."

Dramas returning: "NYPD Blue" and "Alias"

Newsmagazines: "20/20" and "Primetime." New news magazine: "Good 2 Go" (perhaps being aired before Monday night Football)

My bets: Look for My Wife & Kids and George Lopez to move over to Tuesdays and 8 Simple Rules to anchor Friday nights.

Jessica Simpson's sitcom failing to make the grade is good enough news for me! I still have a hard time, though, trying to understand why ABC would rather put any of its efforts in her than in Teri Polo!

I hope Teri Polo has such a successful movie career that when ABC asks her to do another sitcom, she can say "NO!" It's what ABC deserves!

Casualties include sitcoms I'm With Her, It's All Relative, Married to the Kellys and, in a surprise move, Life With Bonnie. Replacements: The Savages, about a widower and his five unruly sons, mirroring producer Mel Gibson's brood; and That's Just Rodney, starring comedian Rodney Carrington. That will leave eight comedies, down from 10 currently, with George Lopez scheduled to move to Tuesday and 8 Simple Rules to lead off Fridays.

So we're without her. It was fun while it lasted. I hope all you had the good sense to tape as many episodes as I did. I saw each one except "The Musical" and the season (now series) finale. I'll be starting a new thread here offering various thoeires as to why "I'm With Her" was cancelled. I hope all of us here - we know who we are (Justinkase8, AnaheimPMWitch, and all the rest!) - keep in touch through the Sitcoms Online message boards, e-mails, private messaging, and of course, postcards. (Okay, the postcard remark was an attempt at humor. . . .)

If you need something to do on Tuesday nights. . . try this.

ABC is still going to air the reruns this summer. The Musical is the first one they'll show, on June 1!

While we've all been bitching and moaning about IWH being axed, "Life With Bonnie" was cancelled too. Apart from the fact that these were ABC shows, what did they have in common? Give up? Chris Henchy was associated with both of them. Seems that ABC has little if any regard for his ideas these days.

If I were Chris Henchy. . .well, I'd be married to Brooke Shields. So let me rephrase that! If I were in his shoes (say, wingtips! ), I wouldn't want to work with ABC ever again. After developing a show around the talented Bonnie Hunt and developing another based on his own personal Hollywood experiences, after putting his all into them, after trying to do his best for this network, Iger and company jerk him around and cancel both shows after not sticking with them long enough? Damn shame indeed. He got shafted big time.

Judd Apatow and Paul Feig vowed never again to work with NBC after the "Freaks and Geeks" debacle. Henchy should take a similar stance with ABC, then sit back and watch as ABC's future shows do worse then his. Chris, if you're reading this, you deserved better.
