Can you think of any? The only one I can think of at the moment(though I know ther's many more) and that would be Larry Dallas from Three's Company. This is how I picture Eddie in the seventies.

The one who always comes to mind to me is Angel Martin from "The Rockford Files." He was Jim's best friend but was really a conniver who was always getting into trouble. And, like Wally with Eddie, Jim was always there to help him out!

This is a comic strip rather than a TV show, but Lucy from Peanuts reminds me of Eddie.

"Paulie," Rocky's brother-in-law in the ROCKY movies, somewhat compares to Eddie Haskell. He was a no-good bum who thought some of Rocky's notoriety and wealth was due to him just because he was "close' in a way, bringing Rocky and his sister together, similar to how Eddie tries to sponge off Wally's popularity and clean-cut image, especially with the girls.
I never liked the show much, but I saw quite a few eps because I had a sister and brother who liked it, but in One Day at a Time in its last season or 2, the Bonnie Franklin character had a business associate called "Francine" who was always nosing in and creating tension, like Eddie. In the early years of All in the Family, Lionel Jefferson was sort of like Eddie Haskell, but only to Archie Bunker-- putting him on with phony compliments and double-talk. |
