He plays many of his roles (including Mike) with a disinterested indifference. This acting style worked great on AITF but he was unappealing when you saw him on The Rockford Files or Andy Griffith Show (in guest roles). One of his best acting jobs that violated this usual indifference was the guest role of Snake on The Partridge Family. Reiner really was outstandingly diferent as that character. Much slicker and involved was he as Snake the motorcycle gang leader.

No offense to Rob Reiner but he hardly seemed to fit into the country world of TAGS for many reasons.
