Bridget is conceited - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I have never missed an episode of 8 Simple Rules, even though it's not my favorite, I just always got to watch a new episode of it to see if they have anything relevant to the fact that this family just lost a father less than a year ago.

I have to say though, lately, I've been kind of irrated with Bridget's character because of how conceited she is. Her character is supposed to be a popular girl that know's she's hot, but also says dumb things sometimes; but when she says lines like in the latest episode "Why is everybody jealous of me?", in referring to how hot she thinks she looks, she just comes across as irritating.

I'm going to try not to sound hypocritical, but people who have good looks usually know it. I have good self-confidence that I am good-looking, and maybe hot [LOL!]. I'm a 17-year old male who believes I look good, and am a ditz, even though I have never been on a date. Sometimes at school, a friend would say, in a joke-sort-of-way that they think I'm hot, and I would reply back with "Yeah, I know." I always say it with a smile though, so I wouldn't sound so arrogant, because even if you know you look attractive, you should never think that the whole world flaunts over how sexy you think you are, which is what Bridget does.

Bridget doesn't even act nice all the time. I act nice, and everybody can be nice. A person actually is more attractive if they are a good person. Bridget just seems to milk in how hot she think she is all the time, without even bothering to be considerate around other people. Now, that, can make you unattractive. At my school, we don't really have popularity, cause my school isn't as stereotyped, but from what I know, even popular girls aren't really as conceited as the way Bridget acts. & they don't act dumb either.

In reality though in high school, I think if Bridget were to act as self-obsessed as she is, and thinking that she's the best thing there is, yet she still says dumb things, people would talk about that to others and they'd say she's a "******."

agree with ya there, shes kinda conceited from time to time ... and it DEFINITELY sucks to act like that ...

but, well, thats the way she is

Now, I think in reality, if any [good] parents heard there kids talking like that about ourselves, like the way Bridget arrogantly and shallowly talks about herself, mom and dad would give a talk to there kid about how they shouldn't be obsessed with themself.

I agree with you, but I also think that just belongs to the sitcom part of 8 simple rules. We mustnt forget that it's still a sitcom, and when Bridget says things like that it is mostly worth a good laugh or at least a grin.

ja, die deutsche version mag ich absolut nicht. hab auch nur die erste folge gesehn, das hat mir gereicht.

ich bin schon länger ein großer john ritter fan, durch herzbube mit zwei damen (three's company). dann habe ich durch eine freundin in den staaten erfahren, dass er eine neue serie hat und hab dann angefangen es zu gucken, da man ja (gottseidank) heute so gut wie jede tv serie im netz bekommt

ok and now back to english or everyone will be mad at us

Bridget is just self centered. A some teenagers are like that. Makes for a good laugh!
