April, 2000: just as the Freaks And Geeks set was about to be struck, ABC expressed interest in picking up the series. In May, the cast was called back as a thirteen-episode contract was signed with the network.

Because ABC also bought out NBC's remaining contract with the series (which lasted until September), ABC was able to air all eighteen first-season episodes of Freaks And Geeks, including the six that never aired on NBC ("Kim Kelly Is My Friend," "Dead Dogs And Gym Teachers" "Noshing And Moshing," "Smooching And Mooching," "The Little Things" and "Discos And Dragons"), over the summer. The episodes aired Tuesday nights at 9 pm, after Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.

Coming soon: "How I Spent My Summer Vacation," the second-season premiere of Freaks And Geeks.
