Default John Ritter and Richard Kline!!

John and Richard became really good friends after Three's Comapny ended. That was so cool!! John even worked with Richard's daughter. She played little Lucy in Problem Child!! I know you guys know that already.....just though I'd share that!!

Speaking of that, does anybody know why Richard Kline didn't appear in many second season eps of Three's Company? According to the TV Tome episode guide, he didn't appear until near the end of the season in the episode "Will the Real Jack Tripper." But he did have a small role in the first season ep "No Children, No Dogs." What I don't understand is why they'd take a character who had such a small role in a much earlier episode and give him a recurring role later on.

Matt: He was in the director's cut.

From "Raising Dad" a short lived sitcom with Bob Saget of "Full House" fame.

Chris Mann mentioned something about that on the Commentary for the 2nd season DVD. He said something along the lines of, John loved working with Richard Kline so much, and they were really good friends, so he told the producers that he loved working with him, and wanted to work with him more, and to bring him back as part of the cast. I'm thinking that maybe John and Richard hit it off as friends right off the bat from the first season and built a friendship from the time of "No Children, No Dogs" to the time John went to producers. Either that, or they were friends before TC.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Thanks for the info.

I'm also glad they remembered the character of Larry. Everytime Jeffery Tambor was on the show, he played a different character. I'm glad they didn't do that with Richard Kline.
