How tall would you say Lumpy was? He looked pretty tall as he was the tallest out of Wally and his friends.

Hmmm................. I'd say Lumpy was about 5'10. I'm trying to place heights on all the characters to get an idea of Lumpy's. Lumpy isn't as tall as Ward is he? I seem to remember Ward being a bit taller. (or perhaps they are pretty much the same height.) Mr. Rutherford was taller than Ward, so Lumpy isn't extremely tall. And I've always guessed Wally was about 5'7, maybe 5'8.

Did anyone else notice that the adults and teachers and "college boys" that Wally, Eddie, and Lumpy encountered in their later years were all really tall? I always found that a bit unrealistic...just keeps reminding me about how Barbara Billingsley had to wear heels all the time so she could be taller than the boys. The only adult I remember that was allowed to be shorter than the "kids" was Mrs. Rayburn when she was teaching the 8th grade.
Anyway, back to the point. Wally does seem to be about 5'7", so Lumpy was defiantely a few inches taller than that. Its kind of interesting to look at their real ages...Frank Bank was the oldest, Ken Osmond was a year younger, and Tony Dow was three years younger than Frank and two years younger than Ken. So Frank was always the tallest, but at the beginning of the show, Tony was taller than Ken, even though he was two years younger than him. Then they were the same height, until Ken passed him. On NLITB, Eddie looks by far the tallest, even taller than Lumpy, but thats partially because he's always wearing cowboy boots, which adds a couple of inches. |

In the last season, Tony Dow was 5'8. I imagined Ken Osmond to be 5'9, and Frank Bank to be 5'10-5'11.
