5 12 04 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Arthur recruited Doug to be his partner in the Senior Center's Annual Shuffleboard Tournament due to the fact that Carrie came down with a nasty cold. Doug proves to be a horrible player so Arthur dumps him and uses Spence instead. Also, Carrie uses her illness to play on the sympathy of Holly who cooks for her. Even after Carrie fully recovers she still pretends to be sick so Holly can cater to her. The episode is pretty funny, especially seeing Spence wearing a fruitty outfit (has to be seen to be believed) while playing. Doug asks Arthur why he dumped him to play with "Greg Louganis"!! In the end Arthur has to go back to Doug cause Spence won't play in the final due to the fact he was too tramatized after seeing his mother (Anne Meara) in bed with his old shuffleboard coach. Of course they loose badly and Arthur really gives it to Doug in the end. Arthur lost out on the grand prize. A basket of foot powders. William Daniels (who co-starred on Boy Meets World and St. Elsewhere) guest starred as Arthur's chief rival. Hope that helps. The few shots they did show of Carrie, showed she was really huge. I must say even Holly looked heavier than i had ever seen her before. She seemed to have alot of butter on the buscuit.

I can't take credit for that line. Carrie was used that line when Doug told Arthur that he had a nice a$$. She did'nt agree with him and thus the line.

Yes! I noticed that too! Holly was bigger than she used to be. Carrie was a mean lady yesterday!!

I would've liked it more if Doug would have used the foot cream and rubbed all over those feet of his... but what're'ya gonna do? It was good, but unmemorable.

I missed it also, Carrie always uses holly for something. I find it funny how they are always paying holly to do their dirty work.

I wasn't impressed with the episode. It had its moments, but I didn't find it that funny.

Well hopefully Holly can get some revenge on Carrie soon. I believe the season finale has Holly moving in with the Heffernan's after she loses her apartment. What a fun bunch that will be!!

Another below average episode for this season IMO. Kerry is just too mean.
