I was confused when James leaves the House to go on a job interview and then all of a sudden returns because he said it wasn't going to get hired anyway so why show up. Then James said-
"I fired him before he had the chance to fire me" -HUH??? Very strange episode. This was from the episode-"The Man I Most Admire" |

Why do you find that confusing??? I don't remember the episode, but James reasoning may have been, he gets so excited about a new job prospect only to have his hopes and dreams taken away for his either being too old or uneducated, so he figures why even bother. So he didn't go to the interview and in his way he was saying to the person he was going to see I don't need you to tell me something bad so in a way he was firing the person.
I hope that makes sense.

Sometime I guess the frustration gets to be too much, and James felt it just wasn't worth it. JMO!

I know how he feels! I hate going on job interviews and not getting the job especially when I really wanted the position!
