Thumbs down Not Learning Some of the Facts of Life

After just coming off the heels of a successful "Different Strokes" marathon in which many of the rarely seen "serious issue" episodes were aired I was hoping we would have the same situation with the FOL marathon. It appears however that the so called "controversial" episodes will not be aired during the 46 hour block. The shows I am referring to are "Breaking Point," the episode where Natalie is attacked, the story where Blair is injured in a car accident and her face temporarily disfigured, and even non taboo episodes such as the one where Mrs. Garrett gets married and the show where the girls think Mrs. Garrett has become a murderess (one of my favorites.) What a shame.

Sad

I loved the Diff'rent Strokes Marathon. It totally rocked. They had episode after episode of my favorite ones. Plus they showed
the serious episodes like
Bicycle Man parts 1&2. The Hitchikers part 1&2. Cheers to Arnold, Bulimia, & lots of good episodes. I taped the whole marathon. It took 6 tapes but it was worth it.I'm so glad I did. Now I can watch alot of Diff'rent Strokes episodes whenever I want.
Cheers to TvLand. A great big thanks & thank you to them. Tvland is not airing many Facts of Life controversal episodes. At least like Sean Snow said they are showing it. Tape it while it's on because who knows when it will be picked up again.

Wink

I agree about the DS Marathon kicking *ss...I really wanted to the 'The First Time' ep and a few of the other 'controversial' FOL episodes....Also wish they would show some of the funny Season 8 shows that I never got on tape.
Oh well,,,guess we gotta be gr8ful TVLand is showing any FOL eps.
Ciao.

Yep, I agree- I am disappointed too. The FOL fandemonium on TV Land will include only THREE eps that were never shown on N@N, whereas there are about 15-20 eps that N@N never showed.

I didn't want to admit it because, I suppose we should be "happy" and stop complaining, but it is hard to resist being somewhat disappointed. I'll take whatever I can get though.

OMG. It's only going to air THREE never-before-seen episodes of the show on this 46-HOUR marathon of a show that wasn't even on the regular schedule and we may not be seeing at ALL? How dare they? I know, many of you are happy with the fact that it is being shown, but I see a lot of "I am disappointed"s and even a few "I am sort of disappointed"s and no one should be disappointed at all, because, ya know what, you wanted this so bad, and you've got it, and you should be happy that they're showing 90 episodes of this show. Sure, it would be great if they would show the more contraversial episodes, however nothing to be disappointed over.

You know what PPatters- I'm usually not one to come here to complain when I don't like the way something is scheduled. But it doesn't surprise me that you posted a message to the effect of "stop griping; be happy." I figured that someone would eventually come into this thread and do so, because someone always does whenever there's a thread full of disappointments or complaints.

In the past, I myself have tried to get others to see the bright side of things when they're unhappy about someting, but to be honest it's getting a little irritating that there are always people who come to this board and try to speak in an authoritative manner by telling others to "stop complaining" or "calm down" or something to that effect.

Sorry....I admit that I'm not exactly in an upbeat mood right now and I'm not trying to pick at you, but I do get tired of people telling others at this board to "be happy" or to look at things from others' perspectives.

You can't change the way other people think, I'm sorry. If we were to tell TV Land we're upset, that would be one thing, but if we just want to discuss with each other about the fact that we're a little disappointed about something, so what?

Well, I should have made it clear that I AM happy that TV Land is going to air this marathon, but so what if I'm a little disappointed that we're not getting more controversial eps? It's one of those "*sigh*....I'm a little disappointed that such-and-such will not happen, BUT I'm still grateful that at least we're getting this much ..." kind of things.

I'm not disappointed in TV Land, I just think it's too bad that there are cetain controversial eps that were never aired since N@N picked up FOL. But I know that TV Land is doing its best- there's only so much they can cover in a 48 hour marathon.

Well, it's not like anyone here expressed anger- I've seen people do that before.

Anyway, as I said in the closing part of my post above, I'll take whatever I can get.
