Thumbs down "Soul Plane"

What do you people think of the Snoop Dog movie "Soul Plane?"

I liked Snoop Dog in "Bones", but this movie looks awful. Why is black cinema ripping off classic 80's movies? First "Johnson Family Vacation", now "Soul Plane". This movie is a bladent ripoff of "Airplane." Instead of seeing this movie, rent "Airplane."

Please don't put 'Airplane' in the same sentence with this huge joke made 'movie'. I love 'Airplane' and I won't waste time or $$ watching this other.

I'm not wasting my money on Soul Plane either. It's a stereotypical movie that shows that blacks are ignorant & we're too stupid to see that we're being stereotyped in these kind of movies. TVJE u liked Bones? LOL. What was it that u liked about that wack flick?

I agree with you isaiahthomas- and I also think any black people that have anything to do with making these movies are sort of betraying themselves. I hate films like this- and definitely won't see this one- lokks like a silly plot anyway.

I guess when I saw "Bones", (on cable) I just had such low expectation for Snoop Dog's acting ability, that if he doesn't screw up his lines, he did a good job.

Compairing this to "Johnson Family Vacation." Cedric could get away with ripping off "National Lampoon Vacation." Snoop Dog can not get away with ripping off "Airplane."

Anyway, "Soul Plane" looks awful. Don't waste your money on it, rent "Airplane."

Snoop Dogg has no acting ability hahahahahahahahahahahaha. The characters that he always plays in his movies are stereotypes of ignorant blacks. I'm really gettin sick & tired of black movies cause if u notice, black movies always have the same actors & the movies are all about the same thing. For example, Breakin All The Rules movie with Jamie Foxx, Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut is gettin tired. Gabrielle & Morris were already in 2 Can Play That Game & The Brothers movies together. Now this is gonna be their 3rd movie together. Same thing goes for Snoop Dogg & Angell Conwell who will be in Soul Plane together. They were already in Baby Boy & The Wash movies together. Hollywood needs to start finding some new black actors cause i'm really gettin sick of this. Another thing i have a problem with is these low budget straight to video black movies that are about brothers sellin drugs in the ghetto, sex, violence, clubbin. I understand this is what sells but people are gettin tired of seeing black actors gettin stereotyped like that. All blacks aren't like that & i bet when white people see these movies on the shelf at Blockbuster Video, they're laughin at us cause they think blacks are about that when all of us aren't.

You're right. "Soul Plane" is a rip-off of "Airplane!"

Despite the awful reviews of "Johnson Family Vacation," I went to go see it anyways. The film wasn't as bad as the critics said it was going to be, but of course, it was far from great. As for the stereotypes that the black community found offensive, I didn't catch any of them, maybe because I'm not black.
