I don't think it's very likely. It happens but I feel that most people who work for the post office are pretty responsible considering the thousands of pieces of mail they have to deal with everyday.

Don't be so quick to agree with that Happy Post Office stuff. My mom just got an envelope a week ago that had been mailed to her 7 months ago.

All I'll say is, it can happen, because it's happened to me. I think, though that most of the time, it's not that likely.

Well I just mailed a money order for a bill, and so far that company that I mailed it too hasn't received it, so I will have to have them track the money order with the receipt, otherwise I am out that money

Well, jterry (that's his name on here, BTW) sent me something via parcel post almost 4 weeks ago, and it STILL hasn't gotten here. =/

I don't understand why, because I won something on eBay in February, and the seller sent me my item via parcel post, and it took my item 2 weeks to arrive that way.

Very little chance! Back before my friend and I each had email we literally wrote to each other like 300 times in a period of 2 years or more and I'm pretty sure only ONE of those letters got lost in the mail!

My sister sent us a thank you card once. We didnt get it until two years later and she lived right around the corner from us then...
So...I guess it all depends.

More likely than you might think. My dad, who works for the PO, has found more than his share of mail under machines and other random places. He once found his own mail!

Once we didn't get a thank you card until May 3rd... it was dated April 11th. *shrug* I'm waiting for two eBay things right now and I'm sorta wondering why they're taking so long.
