Default Remember When AC Green Told Everybody He Was A Virgin?

Former Lakers player AC Green had told the media yrs ago that he was a virgin which i thought was the dumbest thing u could tell the media so the whole world would know. AC should've kept that to himself. That's not for anybody to know. I wonder why he held out for so many yrs cause when u have a position like he does, u know there are gonna be plenty of women who throw themselves at u & i don't see how he could resist that temptation.

AC seems like he's a lame. I don't see how any normal man can practice celibacy when you're a professional athlete like he was. Celibacy is for suckers & he's obviously one. I heard he finally found a woman & got him some LOL.

I know i couldn't resist women throwing themselves at me if i was a athlete. I wouldn't be trying to have sex with all of them like Magic Johnson did(LOL) but i would pick at least one of them to be my wife cause it's not good to have sex with a lot of women. Magic had to find that out the hard way.

Cmon Isiah - AC should be a role model not someone who you insult. If more kids lived up to his standards the world would be a better place without all of these kids who have no idea who/where there father is.

He also played in like 1,000 straight games or something really long I think.

I agree with you.

I think if Kobe Bryant had followed A.C. Greens example he wouldn't be in the trouble he is in.

Hats off to AC Green for being able to stand up to all the temptation. I only hope I'll be able to do that as well when I get to the NBA.

Is AC Green married? I think it's very commendable that he practiced or is still practicing celibacy. He doesn't have to worry about stds, hiv, paternity suits, rape accusations. His decision to go public probably did bring out amoral females who wanted the "challenge" of being the one to seduce him and get him to break his vow.

On another note, some people's definitions of celibacy are rather loose. Some say no sexual activity at all with anyone (including yourself). Others think that as long as there is no genital intercourse they are being celibate.

I think society pressures people to have sex, especially males who are labeled weird if they're not "getting some".

I read a sociology book about married couples who were practicing celibacy by choice. The people said they were happy with their vacation from sexual activity. More power to them. I tell you this, don't hold your breath waiting to see a couple like that in a sitcom. The people who produce shows would think this is totaly unbelievable.

he could never be married and celibate....I doubt that a marriage can remain healthy if the man wants nothing to do with her body.*l*

In that book I read about celibacy the couples were mutual in their desire to abstain. It wasn't like one party wanted it and the other wasn't interested or was holding out.

This seems very realistic to me. I have met people who are just not that interested in having sex. If a man and a woman like that get together tey can have a very happy life together.

I think the culture pushes sex too much as something that is the ultimate high. In that book I read the couples said that they became much more intimate with each other after they took the vactions from sex. Touching, holding, conversation, doing things together, cuddling etc. It's waht they want to do. They also told the researchers that they didn't tell their parents, friends etc that they adopted a celibate lifestyle. I don't blame them. Their parents and friends would probably ridicule them.

JamesAnthony what u said is so true that society does pressure people to have sex. It's more prevalant in the black community cause black males will tease other black males if they aren't gettin any from women. I dealt with that issue in high school. People can't judge a book by it's cover. Just cause a person looks like they're to themselves doesn't mean they're weird or aren't gettin any. I never underestimate quiet people cause those are the ones u don't wanna mess with. I can understand young black males teasing other young black males that look like they aren't gettin any but when older black males tease other older black males who aren't gettin any, that's a problem cause once u reach a certain age, you're supposed to mature, not act immature. I don't care anymore if a black male teases me about not gettin any sex regularly cause i'll get some when i feel like it. I used to let that bother me when dudes would tease me about that when i was younger but it doesn't bother me anymore. This factory job i used to have, i had 2 older black men that were co-workers who teased me & this other young black man about not gettin any sex cause they thought since we were kinda quiet & we looked lame to them that we weren't gettin any. The other dude they teased, they asked him what a teddy was & he thought they were talkin about a teddybear so they laughed at him. They told him a teddy was somethin pertaining to a woman, i think it's a outfit. I didn't know what a teddy was either until i heard them tell him.

Those are great posts, jamesanthony. I agree with everything you said. Except, I didn't read the same thing as you said in books, we discussed this rather thoroughly in my youth group at Church. I think it's great for young Christians at their churches to talk about this kind of stuff in this day and age. They're getting so many wrong messages from the media, school, television.... I'd usually say teaching this type of stuff in church is too Liberal for church, but I have to make an exception when SOOO many wrong messages are being shoved down our throats and somebody's got to correct it, y'know?
