SEASON FINALE
CATE BEGRUDGINGLY AGREES TO MEET WITH PRINCIPAL GIBB AFTER SHE FORGETS TO TURN IN SOME PAPERWORK ON KERRY -- BUT THE GIRLS SUSPECT IT'S A DATE -- AND JIM LANDS HIMSELF A GIRLFRIEND, ON THE SEASON FINALE OF ABC'S "8 SIMPLE RULES" Adam Arkin ("Chicago Hope") Guest Stars as Principal Gibb Connie Stevens Guest Stars as Jim's Girlfriend, Tina "Finale Parts Un & Deux" -- Cate finds herself in the awkward position of having to deal with Principal Gibb (Adam Arkin, "Chicago Hope") when she forgets to turn in a health form for Kerry's trip to Europe. Then, when she discovers that Bridget took the fall for Kerry for organizing a school sit-in, she agrees meet Principal Gibb again over coffee in order to set the record straight. But the girls are convinced that their mother's innocent coffee meeting is really a date. Meanwhile, Kerry is furious when Bridget is elected student body president and wins a trip to Washington, D.C. because everyone thinks she organized the school sit-in, and Jim's new relationship with Tina (Connie Stevens) irks Cate because she still hopes that her father will reconcile with her mother, on the double-episode season finale of "8 Simple Rules," TUESDAY, MAY 18 (8:00-9:000 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. "8 Simple Rules" stars Katey Sagal as Cate Hennessy, Kaley Cuoco as Bridget Hennessy, Amy Davidson as Kerry Hennessy, Martin Spanjers as Rory Hennessy, with James Garner as Jim and David Spade as C.J. Guest starring in "Finale Part Un" are Adam Arkin as Ed Gibb, Connie Stevens as Tina, Billy Aaron Brown as Kyle, Kaitlin Cullum as Beth, Daniella Monet as Missy, Liam Sullivan as Zac, Elena Lyons as Sissy and Jan Hoag as secretary. "Finale Part Un" was written by Bonnie Kallman & Martin Weiss and directed by James Widdoes. Guest starring in "Finale Part Deux" are Adam Arkin as Ed Gibb, Billy Aaron Brown as Kyle, Kevin Farley as Steven Tyler's roadie (v.o.), Jan Hoag as secretary, Michael Burger as reporter, Dana Workman as student no. 1 and Marisa Theodore as student no. 2. "Finale Part Deux" was written by Bill Daly & Bill Callahan and directed by James Widdoes. "8 Simple Rules" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound. These programs carry a TV-PG,L parental guideline. |

It was a good episode, i'm glad that they ended it that way. I thought the principal was going to put a move on Cate and try to kiss her..but they didn't. And it will be back next year. I wonder if she is gonna go out with him but i think it is too soon.

if they renew it, will James Garner and David Spades also appear in Season 3? I think the show needs them now that John is gone. They're both doing a great job there.

I liked thhis episode. I didn't really like the guy as Cate's new "love interest", but the scene where Cate asks Paul what she should do and for him to give her a sign made me happy because it shows she still cares for him the most and they can still include Paul as a character on the show.

![]() Oh, darn... I can't believe I didn't realize it was a one-hour finale, so I just set my VCR to record the first half hour! Ummfff!! I'll have to wait till it's re-aired in the summer to record the second half...
