Once i receive the email lettin me know i won a auction, I send the seller a email asking if I pay for the item through paypal tonight what day will the item be shipped out? If i never get a response to that email, the seller never gets paid. Anyone think what I'm doing is wrong?

But usually they tell you on the page of the thing you are bidding on. And don't they not give you your item if you don't pay? I've boughten a few things on ebay before, but my Dad took care of the paying stuff. |

I know that. I just like to let the seller know I'm ready to pay but before i do I need a estimate on when my item will be shipped. |

I am an eBay "Power Seller." When my auctions close, I send the buyer an email thanking them for their purchase, and let them know my mailing address if they want to send a check or money order, and how much the shipping charge will be. Then, at the end, I add, "or you can use paypal."
It is better on small sales if they do not use paypal because the fees eat into my profit. But, because of the convenience, many people insist on using it. |

Yeah paypal is much more convient. With Money Orders I have to mail it and then wait for the seller to receieve it and then have to wait for the delivery. Like a 2 week process |

Also I think you are safe to assume that any reputable seller (check their feedback) will ship your item promptly when you use paypal.

I don't like a lot of their fees and policies, but if you want to be active on eBay, you almost have to accept it!

Well, I just recently started using eBay again and with a check card. It's been a long time, but I've now they have it set up where you can pay the second you win the bid which I usually do. However, I usually only bid on items by sellers who have at least a 98% positive feedback rating. Then again, I've never seen a seller lower than 99% from what I recall. I've always gotten very nice feedback as well from paying as soon as I win.
Speaking of which, I won a Ring t-shirt on eBay on Thursday evening and received it today. That was quick! |

Whenever I win an auction I wait three business days for the seller to contact me. I believe that it's the seller's responsibility to contact first, and I never want to be there the second an auction ends, asking a lot of questions. There are sellers that are running hundreds of auctions simultaniously and have a hard enough time trying to keep them all straight. If a seller hasn't contacted me by the third day I'll email them asking for payment instructions. I never, under any circumstances, send money to a seller that I haven't received a personal response from. I always explain that in my emails and I've never had any problems with that.
