Question Where???

Where did "we" people that are obssessed with Nancy and/or Jo get the name of "The Nancy Cult" and "The Jo Cult"? Did this happen when I was gone? Who started it?

I have no idea here. Totally clueless...not that I ever have a clue though.lol. Erica and Alex can tell ya that.

The Cult of Jo Polniaczek was something that I believe was written in a magazine article somewhere or something, but Cokies told us about it.

I think that I may have started the Nancy Cult thing, but I can't remember for sure. The concept of the Nancy Cult has been around for a little while, and did not just occur while you were gone. Not every Nancy fan is a member of the so-called Nancy Cult.

If I am not mistaken, it's not a "cult", but just some made up thingy from the idea of "People Weekly Magazine". You know...when that cashier said...I can't take your order now, I just saw Jo.

(That made no sense, Whatsoever)

I take back my question about the Jo Polniaczek Cult, I know where ya got it. I realize also that it isn't really a cult cult. I don't think...

Bootsy what did you mean by "Not every Nancy fan is a member of the so-called Nancy Cult."? Not that some aren't as obssessed? Some are really a 'cult'?
I'm not sure how to take it. And who do you or anyone else consider part of the "cults"?

Sad

I don't know who started it or where it came from. I know cults are a bad thing. They have destroyed many lives. Charles Manson was the founder of one. What cults do is find people who are weak vunerable, lonely, sad & fragile. Most commonly bored housewives lonely college kids. They approach these people telling them to come to a "church" thing. At the "church" thing they tell them
they are unloved & uncared about & only members of the"church" care about them. They make the person feel welcome & loved. The person begins to go to the "church" & gets to the point where they feel loved. Then the founder convinces them that they need to move away far from their families & live with people who love & care about them. Slowly while they feel loved at the time they quit school, quit their jobs,& leave their families & friends. After moving to the house, dessert, or where ever they move they are brain washed to believe the founder is right. The founder tells them to write their famlies for money. The money goes to the "church" when the famlies quit sending money the members are told to break away from their famlies. Soon they become brain washed into thinking anything the reverend says is God's will. They then take jobs selling flowers, doing prostitution, or whatever jobs the reverend will let them get. The money of course goes to the reverend. They are not allowed jobs where the founder can't be around. They brain wash these people & make them take ice cold showers for hours. The cult members usualy stay & get brain washed & usually stay for life. Sometimes famlies hire special people called deprogrammers to get the family member, friend,or loved one out. Deprogrammers are payed large somes of money
to unbrainwash the member's mind & make them see straight. Sometimes the members get clear minded again come home return to their
lives,& never have anything to do with the cult again. Sadly sometimes after coming home
members long to go back & find ways to go back. So as you can see cults are a bad thing. I think the work Cult is over used in our society & clearly on this Facts of Life board. Also in one cult all the members drank poison koolaid to kill themselves. In another one shoot theirselves. People in cults are usually not in their right mind after they join. My message to everyone
if anyone tries to talk to you about God & they make you feel uncomfortable leave as fast as you can. Also if any friends, coworkers, classmates ask you to come to their church find out where the church is & who the reverend is. If the church is in a strange location, or seems to be in a odd place don't go. Most of the time they meet in weird places like land that is off by itself. Abadonned buildings & places that are not well lit or secured. So just know my
last replies CULTS ARE EVIL.

CULTS are not ALL Evil, Though Most of them are. Bootsy prob means it in a way refering to a state of Mind, Such as "Rocky Horror Picture Show" is called a 'cult' classic, yet there aren't people who love the movie that do all the things commonly included in the stereotype. It's like not ALL gangs are bad, and gangs and cults mean about the same thing, though now cults are usually refered to bad things. Did this make any sense at all?

I'm not sure how to take it. And who do you or anyone else consider part of the "cults"?
Ok, I was really kind of hoping to not get into this....but...the members of the quote unquote Nancy Cult are not necessarily more devoted to Nancy or anything, the one thing that separates them from the rest of the Nancy fans is the lengths to which they will go to defend Nancy to people who may not like her, which more often than not includes jumping on, yelling at, cussing at, threatening them with bodily harm, and telling people with different opinions that they have no right to express them. They also don't like to be told what they can and cannot (or should and should not) say, but they are quite fond of telling ofters what they can and cannot say.

No one is really in a cult because no real Nancy cult exists. It's just an expression.

As for who I or anyone else thinks is a member...I am not going to name names. Most people know whether they are considered to be in it or not. People who are unsure can examine their behavior and see if it fits in with what I described above.

(If it sets your mind at ease, I don't consider you a member, and I doubt that others do either. I don't remember you ever displaying any of the behavior I mentioned.)

BTW, being a member is not set in stone. If one stops displaying typical Nancy Cult behavior, then they will not be in it anymore.

Thay didn't seriously mean "cult." It was just sort of a figure of speech. Just don't take it too seriously, people.
