Friends - Sex And The City - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I posted it once, but now that both shows have wrapped (even tho a S&TC movie is supposed to film this fall), I think looking back on the last few seasons of both shows, it's really funny to see the similarities.

Steve and Miranda were in so many ways just like Ross and Rachel. They met, became friends, fell in love, broke up, had a one-off sexual experience together, which got Miranda pregnant, she had the baby (which she gave birth about 2-3 months before the episode where Rachel gave birth) but they stayed "apart", and then a long time later, they realized they were meant for each other and got back together. The only real difference is that Miranda and Steve wound up getting married, while R&R were just boyfriend/girlfriend again.

Monica and Chandler's baby adoption woes in season 10 were very similar to that of Charlotte and Harry in the last season of Sex as well. The last Friends ended with the birth mother giving birth, and the last S&TC ended with Charlotte and Harry finding a Chinese baby through adoption papers that they knew would be theirs.

Plus, we have the whole Carrie goes to Paris/Rachel almost goes to Paris storylines, etc...

I dunno how much of it was ironic, but I thought it was interesting how so many parallels happened between both shows, especially around the same time

you know I saw some parrellels in My show as well (CSI)
Catherine and Grissom remind me ALOT of Chandler and Monica (okay GRANTED they arent together YET) but in being bestfriends who flirt ALOT theres alot more but I cant think of it at the moment I think one of the MAIN things is the forshadowing they forshadowed the whole Chandler and Monica thing from the very beginning of the show and then Bam in Season Five we get what we want *smiles* right now they are totally Forshadowing the whole Grissom and Catherine thing (well they had been) even going so far as him calling her his "wife" to some strangers on a case in another city anyways My Point is I dont know if these shows are doing this on purpose because they know what the viewers want or if its just some kind of freaky coincidence *Shrugs*

Here are my similarities.... I compare Carrie and Big to Ross and Rachel ... the big grand gesture of Big going to Paris to tell Carrie he loves her. Rachel may have never got to Paris but her man still tracked her down... Both women originally rejected their men as well... then as carrie was in the lobby of the hotel and rachel was in ross's apt. they proclaimed their love...

steve and miranda were only similiar because of the baby.... that's all.
