I don't think this is a fair question because there are more episodes in season 1-6. I think the question needs to be seasons 1-5 verses seasons 6-10. In that case, I would vote for seasons 6-10, but I know I am in the minority.

I know, but lots of people tend to think the show took on a different "vibe" in Season 7.
That was the season when everyone seemed to become rich, wasnt it?!

I disagree, season 6 was still considered a "golden year" for the show, so it deserves to stick with the first 5 (especially since it was still very heavy on the "Ross and Rachel" storyline in the first half). Season 7 was when the show jumped the shark and the show became "comfort food" instead.

I remember when season 7 originally aired, a lot of people were "I hope this is the last year, Friends had a great season last year and now it sucks". All of seasons 1-6 was solid even tho there were "not as great" seasons. Season 1-6 was when Friends was a groundbreaking sitcom, season 7-10 was when Friends was comfort food.

sorta, besides Phoebe. Season 7 was when Rachel got her big promotion at Ralph Lauren and suddenly she had people working below her (god, how forgettable the Tag Jones storyline was) and was also the season that Joey got his job back on Days Of Our Lives, which he briefly played on in season 2. Phoebe has always been Phoebe for the entire 10 seasons tho.

And my least favorite character.
But she's still funny -- in small moderations.

I first watched Friends in primetime toward the end of the 7th season. The episodes were good, and I did enjoy the Monica and Chandler Wedding episode and the baby cliffhanger. I personally think they could have ended Friends during the 8th season. You could have Ross propose to Rachel with the ring Judy gave him. Monica and Chandler could find out they were pregnant. Phoebe and Joey could possibly get together or Phoebe and David could get together and Joey could move to LA. Season 9 was the worst season, imo and Season 10 was an improvement over season 9.

Seasons 1-6 were just great seasons, the episodes were always humorous and there were so many classic moments. Seasons 7-10 used continuing storylines a lot more than Seasons 1-6. Seasons 1-6 contained basically just great funny episodes. Out of the the two groups I'd have to say Seasons 1-6 were better.

I agree, the show got a lot more soapy in the final seasons. While there was continuity in seasons 1-6, and running plots such as Ross/Rachel, Monica/Chandler, Ross' divorces (many of the jokes in season 6 were making fun of this), the majority of the episodes could stand alone. The last few seasons, it was more or less a soap opera. Nothing against the soapy turn, but the shows became more about furthering the story instead of being funny.

Thats why Im only getting the first 6 seasons on DVD.
Even though Cheers was VERY close to being a soap in the fifth season.... Im all about comedy.

I think the soap opera thing is good for this show. I just wouldn't want in for every sitcom.

Oh, and I choose seasons 1-6.

I love all 10 seasons, but I have to say that seasons 1-6 are the better seasons.

in my humble opinion I liked it up to season Five and six I NEVER liked the whole Ross and Rachel thing but the whole Chandler and Monica thing intrigued me I LOVED the London ep when they got together and them hiding it and then later on everyone finding out one by one that was some classic television one of my Favorite Phoebe Lines upon seeing Chandler and Monica making out through Ross's apartment window 'AH CHANDLER AND MONICA CHANDLER AND MONICA AAAH MY EYES MY EYES" I LOVED that line
anyways anything after that went downhill *sighs* to much Ross and Rachel in my eyes (although I did like the finale)
