Post To all Nancy and/or Jo fans........

This question occured to me after reading Cokies' thread about "The cult of Jo Polniaczek." When I ask "What would it be like...." I am actually asking the following questions (particularly to those of you who are either Nancy and/or Jo fans):

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo?

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek?

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?"

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple?

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo?

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo?

Disregard my user name in this post;

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo? Um, FOL would probably be the same, but the character of Jo would have been different, because obviously Nancy's acting is unique.

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek? Yes; I watch TD for Lisa Vidal

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?" No comment

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple?
Yes. Definetly

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo? Tracey Thurman. It took a lot of effort for that role, and I give her credit, b/c not many people could have done that.

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo? The Wrong Woman

°·.*¤*-Karli Cauble-the Lisa Cult-*¤*.·°

**In the year 2005, Lauren and I are driving to California to beg and pleed Lisa Whelchel and Nancy McKeon to become our mothers. She will become "Lauren McKeon" and I will become "Karli-wait a minute. I can't become 'Karli Cauble' AGAIN, can I???" Oh well, Just remember us as the "Cauble/McKeon kids!!"**

This song shows an important message

*Look at me, You may think you see who I really am, but you'll never know me. Every day it's as if I play a part. Now I see if I wear a mask, I can fool the world, but I cannot fool my heart. Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? When will my reflection show who I am inside? I am now in a world where I have to hide my heart, and what I believe in. But somehow, I will show the world what's inside my heart, and be loved for who I am. Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Must I pretend that I'm someone else, for all time? When will my reflection show who I am inside? There's a heart that must be free to fly. That burns with a need to know the reason why. Why must we all conceal,
what we think, how we feel?
Must there be a secret me, I'm forced to hide? I won't pretend that I'm someone else, for all time. When will my reflection show who I am inside, when will my reflection show who I am inside?*

*I Pledge of Allidgence to Lisa Whelchel, the best actress in the world. And to the republic, for which she stands, one nation, loving Lisa, forever and ever, Amen*

LOL I forgot to answer my own questions! I consider myself a Jo fan, so I'll take a bite:

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo?I couldn't imagine ANYONE else portraying JO

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek? Well, I don't watch it much, so it wouldn't make a difference.

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?" I probably wouldn't have payed as much attention to everything else she did if I didn't know her as Jo

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple? I'm all for any couple that wants to be together and is happy with each other

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo?I agree with everyone else here about The Tracey Thurman Story

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo? Again, The Tracey Thurman Story might have done it, although I can't bear to watch it again. Since she played in such an intense movie like that, naturally I would want to see her play in other roles besides as a victim in a movie based on a true story

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo?
-It wouldn't be the same. I don't think anyone else could have portrayed Jo quit like she did.

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek?
-Probably, but I wouldn't record it like I do.

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?"
-I would like her, but I can't say as much, because I can't help of thinking of Nancy as Jo.

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple?
-Yeah

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo?
-A Cry for Help-The Tracey Thurman Story

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo?
-The Wrong Woman

Just want to point out, I would have never HEARD of Nancy McKeon if it wasn't for "The Facts of Life". In my opinion FOL gave her ALOT more opportunities than she would have received if she had never landed the role as Jo Polniazcek.
I do believe, however, that she would still be working on TV if it wasn't for FOL, because she obviously has a natural talent.
FOL just really got her pointed in the right direction...

K, so I'm gonna shut up now, sorry to bore you all.

...back to my hole...

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo?

~It just wouldn't be the same at all. Nancy portrayed Jo in a way that no one else could. Just like Lisa W. portrayed Blair as no one else could. Sry for bringing Lisa up in a NMK post.lol. I we wouldn't have seen FOL on N@N as we did cuz the ratings, IMO, would have stayed down and the show woulda been cut after that 2nd season.~

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek?
~I Probably would. That is if I would hav heard of her. Cuz I know her from FOL, that's how I heard about Nancy McKeon. But yeah I'd still like it.~

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?"
~I probably would. FOL started her career, not made it. Her acting career is what it is because of her talent, not because of FOL. If she hadn't done it she prolly wouldn't be on "The Division" right now. But you get my point.~

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple?
~Yeppers~

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo?
~"A Cry for Help: The Tracy Thermon Story" sand and enlightning movie.~

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo?
~Kinda hard to say. Prolly "A Cry for Help...", "IMSS", or "The Wrong Woman".

1. I dunno, if Demi Moore played Jo, right now we would be saying; "What would FOL be like w/o Demi as Jo?"

2. Yes. Bonnie Bedielia(?) is an awesome actress! (just like Nancy)

3.Yes.She's a great actress (TV movie's prove it by themselves) and I just like her voice. And she's got an open, original face.

4.Michael J. and Nancy are cute on their own, together they're double-y cute!

5.Oh, what's the name of that movie! Ya know when her husband runs her down in a drive way and stabbes her, like, several times.I can't remember...

6. See above.

CONCLUSION:NANCY MCKEON = AWESOME ACTRESS :-)

1) It's hard to imagine anyone other than Nancy playing Jo. Although I think the show would have lasted just as long if they kept the same dialog & scripts.

2) I don't really watch the Divison now So I guess I wouldn't care if I had never seen Nancy as Jo before.

3) Probably not.

4) Yes I think I would. They looked great together.

5)Probably that high school movie she did with Michael J. Fox.

6)Not really any of her movies, but her series she had a while back. It was on Monday nights.

1. What would FOL be like if someone else besides Nancy McKeon played as Jo?
It would be weird. I mean, I can't imagine anyone else in the role, so who knows if that person would of been better in the role or not. We'll never know...

2. Would you still like "The Division" as much if you never knew Nancy as Jo Polniaczek?
I watched the first episode and it was kinda lame. Who cares if Nancy McKeon is in it, it still has below average writing.

3. Would you still like Nancy McKeon as much if she never played as Jo, yet still did all those made-for-TV movies and "The Division?"
I'd think she was just another below average actress only scoring below average work, rightfully so.

4. Would you still think that Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox were once a "cute" couple?
I woudn't really care.

5. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have boosted her career as an actress if she never played as Jo? Nada. Wait! When she played the little girl in Starsky and Hutch. Shoulda made her a star!

6. What is the one role or movie, that Nancy has already done, that might have initiated your interest in Nancy as an actress if she never played as Jo?

Nothing much.
