Default Longest running current sitcom??

With the exceptions of Everybody Loves Raymond, The Simpsons and Frasier(which ends in 5 days anyways)....

what is the longest running CURRENT sitcom??

I dont think there's anything thats been around for more than 6 Seasons.... but I could be wrong.

Simpsons is the longest, then Raymond (fall 1996) then King of the Hill (I think early 97) then That 70s Show (I think early 98). King of Queens and Will and Grace started in Fall 98.

I may have forgotten something, but can't think of what it might be.

if South Park counts as a sitcom, that's been on since summer 1997

I guess South Park would be considered a sitcom.
I hope South Park goes on for a long time, its one of the few shows that gets better with age.

I agree, just this season alone (season 8), I can think of 3 that already rank as "classic SP episodes", The Jeffersons (Michael Jackson), Up The Down Steroid and Good Times With Weapons.

Season 8.... the highest numbered season yet!!

Norman Lear is completely right -- South Park is definately All in The Family for a younger generation (not that we cant appreciate All in the Family)

too bad SP hasn't spun off spinoffs the way AITF did. Imagine a Timmy series, lol.

LOL. Timmy is my fave, alongside Cartman and Butters. I am excited for season 4 to come out in June since that's the season that had some of Timmy's greatest moments ("Gobbles!!!") in it.

Ya guys have all the bases covered. I could only think of The Simpsons...That show's been on since I was a little girl.

Oh! Um, well, I wouldn't consider this a sitcom but The Rugrats has been going since 1991...It's closing in on its 13th season now. It beat out "You Can't Do That On Television" (11 seasons) two seasons ago (2001).

I looked here at Rugrats - http://imdb.com/title/tt0101188/ - and it has [1991-????] under the title.

All Grown Up is separate from the baby version. It started last fall. http://imdb.com/title/tt0387714/

thats cool.

the only episodes that really ever held my interest were the ones with the 2 "surfer dudes" who seemed to work EVERYWHERE.
