Default Were the Brady Bunch in their own little world?

Really, what kind of music were they into? I've never used to hear them mention names of famous people, well except for maybe Davy Jones and his appearance. And how about that record they used to play. Y'all should feel the tune in your heads right now. They never used to mention who that was. Or the beatles. You would never see one of them walking around singing a famous tune. They all liked to sing, but I never heard them mention anyone famous, you know, as their favorite singer. Who was out during them times anyway? The Brady Times, that is. I've never heard them mention a year. Never a "these are the 70's".

Never seen them ride a bus, city bus in particular. That's why I loved that Brady Bunch movie. It just shows that no matter what is around them, and who acts a fool, they still were in their own little world. LOL

In "Getting Davy Jones", after Marcia promised to get Davy for the dance, one of her friends said something like, "Oh yeah, why don't you get The Beatles, The Carpenters, and the Fifth Dimension, too?"

Other than that, I never heard them mention any real groups, only made-up groups like The Eggbeaters, and Elsie and the Baboons. The reason they never played any real music is because of the cost. Mike did sing a few bars of Gilbert and Sullivan once, but that music is so old it's in the public domain, so it didn't cost the producers anything.

Let's face it, when you have a groovy group like The Brady Six (a.k.a. The Silver Platters) right there on the show, do you really need any other music?

Also making appearances were Desi Arnaz, Jr., Don Drysdale, Deacon Jones, and Joe Namath. Only Desi and Joe had special pictures of themselves in the opening scenes announcing their guest appearances--I'm surprised Don and Deacon weren't given the same royal treatment.

The Carpenters were also mentioned in the episode in which Pete's voice changes...

After coming up with the idea of a singing group, Peter mentions the fact that the Brady Six should make three times as much money as the Carpenters, since there are only two of them...

In that episode, doesn't Mr. Dimsdale (the studio owner) mentions that family groups are really big sellers...and yet, he doesn't mention the Partridge Family? hee hee

The Jackson 5 and Osmond Brothers are not mentioned as great family singing groups...although they were already famous at that time...

When Peter goes to the recording studio, the family that is cutting a record looks a little like the Jackson Five, but I think they have girls in their group. The name The Brady Six is very simular to The Jackson Five.
