i just recently bought one of those dvd players that have vhs player hooked all in one. And i was curious how I can make dvd's from a VHS tape. I'm not into those kind of things, but would like to try. What kind of CD do you buy to tape the VHS on to? And also, can someone explain how to do this? Thanks for any info.

what brand is it? if it is only a dvd player, you can't record on it like you can the vcr part of the duo. i have a sansui dvd recorder/ vcr. it is very easy to use and uses dvd-r media. the only problem i have had is it won't record some scenes from home videos we are transferring. other than that it is a nice combo machine. you don't have to connect alot of cables and the instructions are easy to follow.

I have a dvd/vhs but it doesn't record on dvd, only vhs. You can record on vhs off of dvds with it if the dvd isn't copy protected. You may want to look at your instructions to see if the dvd records or not. Good luck!
