Default Steve's light skinned girlfriends

I hope this does not turn sound racist. But did anyone notice, that on the show, Steve's character dated a lot of light skinned women, or of mixed decent. Not that there is anything wrong with it.

But why didn't they just go all out, and have Steve date a white women for an episode or two? It seemed to me that the writers were scarred to do that.

I hope this does not turn sound racist? Do u think before u type? What u type doesn't make sense. U should've said i hope this doesn't sound racist. U spelled scared with two r's. I could care less about Steve dating lightskinned women on the show. Lightskin women are the best lookin black women anyway to me. Steve should've made Rachel his woman instead of Regina.

I know, but there are a lot of people that are very sensitive about this subject.

Black women's looks are a very sensitive issue. A man can look like almost anything, just put him in a suit and groom him up and if he has a job it's Ok, but there is still pressure in some of our minds that our women have to conform to this unrealistic standard of beauty. I look at it this way: If I'm dark skinned with big lips and short crinkly hair and a broad nose why would I believe that a woman who has those features is ugly when she has features that are similar to my own? If I had a daughter who came out looking like me would this mean that my daughter is homely because she looks like me?

No. We still have color prejudice in the black community and it makes sense that it would show up on TV.

Tvje I didn't find anything wrong with your post. I never noticed that he dated only honey colored women. Could you imagine if they showed him dating a woman who was dark and heavyset like Cedric is? This show was not deep like that to have him date that kind of female.

I don't like this idea that if an African American woman is dark or not model size or doesn't have long hair she is ugly. We can't control who our parents are after all and looks deteriorate after a while anyway.

I couldn't see Steve Harvey dating a white female on TV, in a film or in real life.

I didn't say he dated only honey colored women. Maybe he did, but a lot of them were light skinned women. Some of them, I thought were white, but in the episode in question, someone would refer to the girl as a sister.

Steve's ex girlfriend from highschool was dark skinned in the episode-"Steve Don't Get Nun"

jamesanthony: I disagree with the part where you said a man could look like anything if you dress him up and he has a job. Women are just as picky as men if not more so!

Some women are very vain like that. In general though I think women care less about looks than we do. On tv I think it's true if you look at the shows like George Lopez, Still Standing, King of Queens the men are ordinary looking but the wives look stunning like models. I can't think of any tv show with a man who looks like a stud and his wife is what society would consider ugly (fat, big eyes, nose lack of hair whatever).

JamesAnthony good point. All those women on those tv shows u mentioned George Lopez, Still Standing, King Of Queens have good lookin wives that look like models even though i don't watch those shows but look at their husbands on those shows LOL. Jamie Gertz who plays that fat white guy's wife on Still Standing has always been attractive to me. Back in the day when she was in the movies The Lost Boys, Renegades, Less Than Zero, she was hot. She still looks good today. LOL@Solomon saying Steve Harvey had a darkskin girlfriend that he went to school with on the episode Steve Don't Get None hahahahahahahahahahaha. I'm laughin because of the name of the episode Steve Don't Get None LOL. U know in real life Cedric The Entertainer couldn't get no woman as fine as Levita is. I've seen his wife in real life & she's cute too but i think she married him cause of who he is. Most cute women that marry male entertainers only do that cause of who they are & i have a problem with that cause it seems to me that cute attractive women only wanna be with a man that's successful cause all they're thinkin about is the money. It is so hard out here to find a woman that likes a man for him instead of liking somebody cause of how much money they got.

I find that younger people (male and female- more so male) place more of a priority on looks.

I don't know of any 40 plus females who would reject a guy who treated her like a queen but looked canine or ugly, fat etc. Men would more likely go for a woman who looks hot and push the fat, lack of hair etc woman to the curb. Of course there are exceptions, I'm just talking from life experience.

In the t.v context I think they just make plain guys feel better by hooking them up with preety women! Just like in movies you'll have 60 years old guys like Eastwood & Nicholson with young chicks. But the the opposite with women. I agree money for some does overcome ugliness!!

These women are church goers because they pray real hard that their child don't look like the daddy!

MarvinG u are too much hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I do notice in movies that Jack Nicholson & Clint Eastwood have had women much younger than them. In Jack's latest movie that came to video recently with Diane Keaton, his woman in that movie is Amanda Peete who used to play on the short lived tv show Jack & Jill on the WB network. She's also in The Whole Ten Yards movie sequel with Bruce Willis & Matthew Perry. Clint Eastwood had him a young woman in True Crime movie that was killed at the beginning in a car accident.

Light skin black women and women of mixed descent are still black. Lots of black people are mixed. However, maybe Steve isn't into white women. Just like many white guys on white shows only date white women and are not into women of African descent or black women.

It's all about getting a higher rating, you know? The show's target audience is mostly women of black or mixed descent (not decent), therefore it would make sense to get only those for the show, so the viewers could relate to them.
