Default Tired of people beating up on Family Ties?--Welcome to the FT appreciation thread!

This is a thread for all Family Ties fans who are tired of being bashed just because it is on TV Land. Here is where you can talk about how Family Ties should be appreciated and treated. We can also discuss the why FT SHOULD be on TV Land. We can also discuss shows that cause FT to be mistreated. Just anything that comes to mind....

This is good. I made this thread because of the general sitcoms board.

You are right. Some people actually condemn people who want to bash the Cosby Show because it is on 55073843839 times a day. It is on WGN, N@N, and I think even TBS. But we can't say anything without being mean Cosby bashers. Uggg! Where is all the outrage over Family Ties? I don't understand why they allow threads devoted to hating one or two shows.

I love Cheers too. Even though it is on two networks, it isn't like it gets aired a lot and in all good time slots. It comes on at 11:30pm and 1 & 1:30am. Hardly a threat to anybody.

TV Land shows old shows all day, I don't understand what the problem is with 1 hour a day.

I can't believe that Family Ties is being bashed by somebody that thinks The Brady Bunch was a great classic show! Give me a break.

But this is a good thread. I wish I had the power to sticky it. Of course, we are the only two members on this board still, so.

But this is what this thread is for...

Blowing off steam with fellow FT fans and we can also make it just a Family Ties pride thread!

This way we can be angry and not have to cause a fight with anyone. I had a fight with LucyFan a few months ago that ended with us not speaking anymore about it. At least here we are among friends.

I'm thinking about changing my avatar and status to say something like this: A big picture promoting FT and the status above it saying: "Family Ties Pride" You could change your status to say that too. What do you think? We could even put "Family Ties and TV Land 11pm Pride" in our signatures.

I'm just so sick of this! I'm really fired up over it!

Edited:

What do you think about my new signature? It would be a lot of fun and make a statement on the other board if you decided to make the same one.

I can explain to you how to get the same picture I got in your avatar if you would like. It is very simple, just let me know...

Ok, this is how I do it:

Go to the Family Ties picture gallery at Sitcoms Online.

Go to cast photos and pick one out (you can pick mine or from several others)

Right click it (but do not click on the picture to enlarge it, just click on the small version)

When you right click a menu will come up and then click on "properties"

When the property menu comes up, highlight the web address for the picture. (should end in a three letter code)

Then go to your user settings and pick "options"

There you will see where you can change your avatar to a custom one. Click all the approriate boxes and then paste the address you copied into the URL address box. Click save and there you go!

If you have any problems let me know. It is simpler than it sounds.

"Family Ties" is still a classic than "Full House", another great family show.

I thought this "Before they were Friends" thing on TV Land would be a bust, but it turns out that we are going to get an extra episode of Family Ties out of it at 8pm. (I think it is on May 6th)

I read a the general board that there is going to be a Fatherhood marathon (gag me) for a week during June from 8PM-12AM Eastern so that means that FT won't air, unfortunately. Why does TVLand have to air a marathon for a show that is going to air on N@N not TVLand? Fatherhood is a cartoon created by Bill Cosby=no thankyou! And Cheers will have three additional timeslots on TVLand in June.

I do not understand that at all. Why TV Land at all?!?!?! I would rather hear nails scratched along a chalkboard for that time than to have to watch that.

I'm sure extra Cheers slots will make the FT/Cheers haters on TV Land even angrier! I wish FT were getting more slots, but I am very happy that they are staying at 11pm for as long as they have.

I think they played the episode that they are going to air on Thursday tonight. "Invasions of the Psychologist Snatchers" or something like that.

Ahhhhh! Can you believe LucyFan making another thread where the major change would be to dump Cheers and Family Ties and bring aboard Three's Co. I wish he would stop saying that they don't belong and Three's Co. does. That is just stupid. Five years doesn't make a difference!!!!!!!!!

Tired of seeing those "Modern TV Classics" on TV Land? Not being able to see the precious original classics that bring back wonderful memories?
