I remember there was one episode where this new girl came to town and she was really mean at first. Then she became nice. She wore a mermaid out fit and sat on the dunking machine at the fair. She had blonde hair. Her tail was green. Any one know which episode this is? Thanks.

I did not mean to waste space on the board. I found my answer on episode guides .com
It was episode #162 The reincarnation of Nellie(2) It was the second half of a 2 part episode. I remember her in the mermaid outfit sitting on the dunking tank. |

I didn't like Nancy. She was a poor replacement for Nellie.

Yeah!I never like her either and she wasn't kind after that episode. If I remember right, she was even meaner than Nellie at some point.I like the episode when Nellie came back and tried to put Nancy on the right track. It was really funny to see Nelly explain how bad she was,she shouldn't done that ect...

Actually I just saw this episode recently. What happened was the school was going to put on a play. Nancy wanted the lead but the other girl was better, and Nancy knew it, and was afraid that the other girl would get the lead over her. So what Nancy did was invite the girl over to her house to practice her singing because the Olesons had a piano, and the girl said she could practice better with a piano.
Well, on the way to the mercantile, Nancy told the girl that she forgot that Mr.Oleson asked Nancy to get some ice out of the icehouse. Nancy had the girl come into the icehouse with her, then Nancy said that she forgot the burlap to carry the ice in and that she would be right back. When Nancy left the icehouse, she left the door open a little. Then she saw Willie, ran over to him and said "Willie, look the door to the icehouse is open, isn't the ice going to melt?", and he said "Of course, it is. Oh, I'll go close it". Of course, she had planned it that way, knowing that once the door was shut, it couldn't be opened from the inside, and that Willie could be blamed for it. Then later, Mr. Oleson went to get some ice and found the girl passed out. So she was bed-ridden for a while, so of course, she couldn't audition for the play. Auditions were the next day. So the girl told her parents that she was with Nancy, Nancy was confronted, and she told her parents that she saw Willie shut the door of the icehouse. Eventually, it was found out that Nancy was responsible for this all, but nobody let on to Nancy that they knew. Everybody decided instead of having a play, they would have a carnival, and Nancy was picked to be the mermaid, the most important part of the carnival. Well, she wasn't told she would have to sit in the dunk tank. The first person to throw balls at Nancy was the girl she had locked in the icehouse. Then, in her panic, she confessed everything. That pissed off Harriet, who ran up and grabbed some balls and started throwing them to dunk Nancy. So that was pretty much it. |
