Exclamation NBC Miniseries 10.5 starts tonight!!!

http://www.nbc.com/nbc/10.5/

An earthquake hits Seattle and opens up a fault line. Predictions say the next quake could separate from California from the rest of the country, so the President authorizies the evacuation of the Entire West Coast. Landmarks fall, including the Space Needle and Golden Gate Bridge.

It airs tonight and Monday Night 9-11pm ET. I will be watching!

10.5? I don't think there has ever been an earthquake greater than 9.0 on the ricter scale. At least not one that has been recorded.

Stunning movie. Incredible. Awesome. I'm just speechless. This was the best movie I've seen in a LONG time. Conclusion is tomorrow(Monday) night 9-11pm ET.

It IS unrealistic though.

A 10.5 is an impossibility. There would have to be an active fault line running from the north pole to the equator to sustain a quake of that magnitude.

I made a point of not watching this movie, not because it's so implausible but, having survived a 6.6 and a 7.1, I have no interest in seeing Hollywood's notion of what a massive quake would be like. For me, they're not exciting or cool or fun to witness. They're tragic and, for some, fatal. Call me crazy, but I don't find earthquakes at all entertaining.

Beau Bridges is playing the President, Kaley Cucoco(sp?) from 8 Simple Rules is playing the daughter of the California governor(she was stuck with her father in Northern California where they were for a camping trip). Kim Delaney plays a scientist who accurately predicts the 2nd quake isn't an aftershock, but a separate quake and correctly predicts more quakes, larger than the other ones. Fred Ward plays the FEMA Director. Other actors/actresses include: David Cubitt, John Schneider, and Rebecca Jenkins.

I do!

Of course, I don't live in a quake zone, but we did have a 4.9(big for Alabama standards last year). Didn't feel it here, but it happened in the middle of the night.

10.5 was even bigger on the Nielsen scale last night with a 12.3. 12.3/20 is the estimate household/share.

No one expected big numbers like this. I don't think it'll do this well tonight, but who knows.

Early estimate for 10.5 part 2: 12.0/19

It even beat Raymond and CSI: Miami. A rare win for NBC on Mondays.

NBC is re-airing the original tonight from 8-11pm ET and the sequel "10.5 Apocalypse" airs Sunday and Tuesday Night from 9-11pm ET both nights. I am so excited. The previews look AWESOME.
