That's alright, I tried to remember as many artists as I could but I obviously forgot a few. Nice to see "Save A Prayer" picked 3 for 3 so far.

Great question Vashti1999.

Thanks Jrnygrl. I was into all this stuff back then. Club Tropicana is a great pick, I love that song.

I forgot about "Would I Lie To You". I'm thinking I should have picked that as my fave over "Who's That Girl". That song has the same elements of why I picked Church of the Poison Mind and Wham's I'm Your Man as my faves: the Motown influence.

You ever have a song that you absolutely love and don't know why? What Is Love by Howard Jones is one of those types of songs for me. (Dating myself) it reminds me of high school everytime I hear it. Smalltown Boy, I like the moodiness of the music and Jimmy Sommerville's voice.

You remembered a truck load, so it's totally understandable you couldn't list everybody. This is a great topic. Lots of fun to answer.

Yeah, how about that. I'm surprised that it has been named so much... well not really "surprised" because it's an awesome song, but I didn't figure it would be listed this many times.

What about Def Leppard? They were from England. They were also one of the most popular and greatest bands of the 1980's. The Police were also English.

yes, Def Leppard would make my top 5 if you included them. The Police I probably wouldn't count tho because they were popular before MTV, and all of these bands were ones whose careers exploded with the advent of MTV in the early 1980's, The Police broke out in the late 70's.

I remember liking the Human League when they became popular with Don't You Want Me. For some odd reason I had a crush on the lead singer.

That's why I said this was a great question. I had forgotten what great music there was from that time, and great bands. They do a Totally 80's weekend on one of the local stations here in L.A. and when I remember to listen it really brings back memories. I know what you mean when you talk about reminding you of high school.

Didn't Jimmy Sommerville do a version of Gloria Gaynor's "Don't Leave Me this Way?" And wasn't he with another band also??

P.S. How could you forget about my favorite band English Beat. Some of the memebers from that band, went on to form Fine Young Cannibals.
