Default I noticed about Steve's classroom

Every notice the following about Steve's classroom? In the first season the students had desks. In the second season the desks were gone, and all they had were chairs.

What is the deal with that? Did Booker T have a budget cut and they had to remove the desks. Or did they remove the desks to pay the salaries of Regina's assistant Lavita.

Who noticed that?

I never quite understood that move myself?! Maybe the desk made the room look to crowded? Anyhow they didn't need the desk! They never did any work!!

Yeah, it did make the room look bigger. Your right they didn't need the desks, they didn't do any work.

Maybe Steve complained to the school that the kids were falling asleep during his class. And they decided to get rid of the desks to make it harder for the kids to sleep during Steve's class.

I never followed this show that closely, but do you guys mean to tell me that they spent all that time studying music? What kind of school was that? I thought Steve taught a bunch of different subjects or something. And it's true, they didn't do that much work.

Steve thought music, art, and leterature. In the pilot, Steve was only suppose to teach music, but due to budget cuts he had to teach all three subjects.

That's what I thought, Tvje. He was doing all those subjects. That is much more realistic than having him just do music. I never noticed the lack of desks after year 1. Did anyone notice if the student extras were the same from season to season?

I don't know, I know most of the student extras for "Welcome Back Kotter" were the same over the years. But I think most of them are the same.

Then again, the running joke was that Romeo and Bullethead were always being left back, so it would make more sense for the extras to change every season.

Speaking of the student extras, remember the first episode of the 5th season, when one of the student extra characters had a sex change operation, and Romeo was late to class, and unaware of the situation hit on this person.

Yes, Steve announced to the class, "I liked to congratulate Stephan on his live changing experience to Stephanie." That was from the season 5 premere, it aired on WWOR channel 9 in New York, last week.
