Default Madonna's movies

Madonna has made some pretty terrible films during her career...but which ones would you say are the WORST? I'm voting for Who's That Girl. I just saw it and it's AWFUL! Really it's a joke, everything about it was bad from the script to the acting.

What do you pick? And speaking of Madonna's movies, has anyone seen Shanghai Surprise? I know it was a huge flop but I want to see it so badly...morbid curiosty I guess. If you've seen SS what are you're thoughts on it? Would you recommend it to a Madonna fan?

Who's That Girl was bad... but it was cute. I was 8 when it came out, so that probably had part of a reason to do with it.... If it came out today, I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.

if you thought WTG is bad, then avoid Shanghai Surprise and Swept Away at all costs. WTG is award worthy next to those 2 films

I might love Madonna, but I don't like her an a actress, she is much better as a singer then an actress.

I've only seen "A League of Their Own" and that movie got awards...so it's obviously not a B-grade movie...I actually liked that movie....and it's also the only Madonna movie I've seen.

Fortunately I've managed to stay away from most of her worst ones. I did see Desperately Seeking Susan which I hated. I couldn't believe some people rate that as her best? WTF? Weird, dumb, pointless movie.

She has been in some good ones. She was really good in A League of Their Own (even if she did complain about having to spend so much time in my home town.) Dick Tracy wasn't that bad, but she was far from the best thing in that movie. The Next Best Thing was ridiculous.

I LOVE Desperately Seeking Susan, seen it countless times. It depends how much you appreciate dark comedy, and also like 1980's fashion on how you'd like it or not. It's a true mid-80's period piece.

She was all right in League of Their own" and "Ava Perone" so I'd been giving her the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I suffered through parts of "Swept Away" the other night on HBO. It caused me to cringe nearly every second I was trying to watch it. It got something like a 2% or 6% rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Review site out of a hundred. 'Who's that Girl' was not so good either but she had the excuse of youth and acting inexperience for that one. Swept Away is from only a year or two ago.

Me too. It's just a fun type of movie. I enjoy it at times when I'm not in the mood to watch something too deep. And yes, I love the 80's feel of it.

All down to personal tastes I guess. Personally I adore the movie and could watch it forever, it's one of my top ten movies of all time, easily my favourite Madonna movie. I think to enjoy it you have to at least appreciate the 1980s, I love that decade...the fashions, the music, COME BACK. LOL it just looked like such a fun time to live in, everything seemed more innocent and individual, things seemed to have more flare. I love the Susan character Madonna plays. She's the kind of person I wish I could be.

Disagree again. If it weren't for Madonna as Breathless Mahoney I wouldn't even own the video of Dick Tracey. I find everything else so boring/silly about it...the villains never did anything for me and Tess Truehart was annoying (IMHO), as was the "Kid". Breathless ruled though. Gotta love that "More" song.

I love a League of Their Own. Third favourite Madonna movie, with the second being Evita. But saying that Madonna's part wasn't all that big in LOTO.

I think I'll stay away from Swept Away and Next Best Thing, they do sound awful and everyone seems to have really low opinions of them. I think they'd bore me. I still want to see Shanghai Surprise, though.

Oh, I love the 80s - I grew up during them But the darkness of that movie and the really screwed up love story I just didn't get. Personal preference though

Hell yeah! They have replica's on eBay sometimes that MTV released via mail order in the 80s but they always go for as much as $400! It's crazy, I don't have that kind of money...but I would so get one if I could. I stayed up all night bidding on one once but got sniped at the last second...I cried, LOL. But one day...

Despretely Seeking Susan, is the only Madonna movie I really liked. Madonna more or less, played herself, if you read some biographys on Madonna, you would see that in the early 80's, she was very much like Susan. This movie was Madonna's "Purple Rain". (Prince basicly played himself in that movie)

That movie also had a very talented cast. So it was not like she had to carry the movie. And whatever happened to the director of that movie Susan Seidelman, did she direct any other movies.
