Default Aunt Jenny

When I was a kid, I didn't understand this episode at first. Until I realized that jan was afraid that she would wind up resembling her "ant" when she got old. What season was that episode?

Jan was a major basket case in this episode. Marcia was trying to reassure Jan that she might not look like Aunt Jenny when she was old. Jan screams, "BUT I WILL...I KNOW I WILL!!!"

Was Marcia? The only thing I remember Marcia saying on the subject (aside from asking Jan how she knows she'll turn out like that) was, "What's the use of worrying about something now that won't happen for 40 years?" Then Jan goes, "I never thought about it that way. And maybe, just maybe, I won't turn out to look like her... looks at picture again. OH BUT I WILL... I JUST KNOW I WILL!! Boo hoo hoo hoo."

(I paraphrased the whole thing. )

I was just wondering how they used Jan's picture on an old picture. Unless they cut and pasted Jan's face over another person.

They probably got Eve Plumb fixed up in old fashioned gear and then took her photo with some old camera. I don't THINK it looks like a paste-on... but I may have never looked closely enough.

It looks like one of those pictures that you can get taken at an amusement park where they dress you up in old western clothes and take a black and white picture of you.

It must have been a pretty old camera for it to take an oval picture.

I don't remember what it looked like exactly. It wasn't an oval picture frame? That would make the picture in an oval shape.

As everyone was looking in the box of pictures,Jan found the picture of Aunt Jenny and it wasn't in a frame,it was an oval picture made from looked like probably a camera from the 30's that they probably took at a photo studio. But how they would they take a picture of Eve from late 1971 and took it from an old camera??? That's a mystery.

They can do a lot of things through the magic of TV/cameras.

Actually, you can still get oval pictures by taking a modern picture and cutting off part of the picture to get an oval shape.

They still had old cameras existing in 1971. Heck, you can still get old fashioned type pictures taken at amusement parks or whatnot like hawaii five-o said.

And I'm not quite sure I understand the question about the oval picture. Since it wasn't in a frame, couldn't it have just been cut like an oval?

I don't think Jan was ever in any danger of looking like an ant. Maybe like her mother's aunt, but definitely not like an ant!
