Exclamation OK, Diff'rent Strokes is coming to DVD...so FACTS is not FAR BEHIND!

Lets all keep voting! I can bet it will be released shortly after or right after DS...lets keep voting and maybe this will happen!

this will rule, I bet we'll see season 1 of FOL around the time season 2 of DS comes out (to keep it in order), like how Fox has kept Buffy and Angel sets roughly around the same season (season 1 of Angel, 1999-2000 season, came out in between the 98-99 and 99-00 seasons of Buffy, and season 2 came out in between the 99-00, 00-01 seasons).

This is awesome. I love Diff'rent Strokes as well

Im kinda dissapointed that diffrent strokes is coming out before Facts of Life. I have never seen the show Diff'rent Strokes, although I heard It's good. But Im tired of waiting for Facts to come out on DVD. I have already voted for the show, but who knows what's going to come next, and personally, I don't think that season one is a good start to release the Facts of Life. It is so different than seasons 2-9. If they do release FOL I hope they combine both seasons one and two, so future releases of seasons 3 through 9 dont get shut out the window, because season one really kinda sucks. i hope this doesn't turn away buyers for seasons 2-9 which it might.

Columbia probably will release facts of life on dvd (all seasons) but they are so slow about each season release, unlike warner brothers and the friends set, there is a new set like less than every 4 months, whereas columbia releases seasons once every year, so that will be 9 years before the whole set of facts will be complete, how depressing. Im looking forward to the later years of facts to be release, edna's edibles years through end run of the show.

I LOVE Diff'rent Strokes, but I prefer The Facts of Life.

Either way, Im glad DS is on DVD, and I cant wait until the eventual FOL release.

Aside from Facts and Strokes, GAB (Gimme A Break!) is the other show I really want on DVD. Does everyone else agree these 3 shows were the best and most watched/ remembered by teens and families? Would you vote for Gimme A Break as well as those other 2 shows? It would be great to have feedback on GAB as well

Facts rules! Anyways, I think Strokes needs to come out first, since FACTS IS a spin-off of the show.

I have a VERY strong feeling that FOL DVD's aren't too far behind since Diff'rent Strokes is being released I think it'd be even more awesome if Silver Spoons were to even get released.

I agree, especially considering that season 1 and season 2 combined equals 29 episodes (only 4-5 more than the typical season has), it might be a possibility we'll see seasons 1 and 2 bunched together, similar to the Newsradio DVD. S1 was 13 episodes and S2 was 16, so the two of them could easily fit on one 4-disc DVD set.

I also feel that Facts of Life will be coming out to DVD soon since it was a spin off of Different Strokes. I also agree that Seasons 1 & 2 should be combined & sold as one set.

Thumbs up DVD

Yeah. i'm glad to see DS is now on DVD - it gives us FOL fans some new hope.

I also would rather see the later years on dvd more than seasons 1-4 (not a fan of 5 either). I hope they do our FOL dvds justice - with lots of extra features and such.

keep voting, we'll have our day.

Peace,

Seeing that Diff'rent Strokes had been one of the canidates (and winner) of the Sony Pictures TV-on-DVD poll (which has since closed.) I think in the months ahead; Sony will announce the official results of the poll and I think that The Facts of Life will be one of the winners. Not to get my hopes to high; but I think FOL has as much potential of winning (and being released on DVD) as Diff'rent Strokes does.

I'm glad Diff'rent Strokes will make it on DVD but I hope that same fate doesn't happen to The Facts of Life. Besides, anyone can see DS is far better than FOL!

Other shows are more deserving to be put on DVD (of Sony-Pictures) such as Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie. From what I have heard, those two are also winners.

I think we found Solomon's girlfriend.

If you wanna see Bewitched, you can watch it on TV Land every night. FOL, much like DS, is not shown on tv anywhere in the US, so I think the demand for FOL is there. I mean, is it really going to hurt you personally for a show on DVD you cannot see on tv to be in peoples collections?

For rudely coming into the board and telling us FOL doesn't belong on DVD when every other poster in here wants it.....

If you don't want the FOL dvd, then DON'T BUY IT!!!

words can't describe how much I'd rather be forced to watch a silent documentary about the movement of a turtle to watching an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, but you don't see me on the ELR board proclaiming how much that show sucks and how it doesn't deserve to be coming out on DVD before other shows I like better. While I hate ELR, I understand that the show has it's audience and a lot of people out there WILL buy the DVD when it comes out in a month or so... just that I'm not one of them
