Default Cable question...

I heard on the news sometime back that conversations were in place about setting up a system where one buys only the cable channels he wants and doesn't have to get A WHOLE bunch of other useless channels. Has there been any further talk of this to anyone's knowledge? I've simply GOT to have TNT next year for the NBA games. Unless their contract runs out...How many years-- nevermind, I guess that's a question for the Sports board. Anyway, *points to first question* .

You don't have TNT?

I thought every cable company in the country offered that.

I haven't heard anything about that stuff again.

This would save a lot of money. There are only certain channels that I watch, anyway.

Yeah that would be great to order cable by the channel. Assuming of course it comes out cheaper than just getting regular cable with all the channels.

I would say 50 cents a channel per month is fair.

I have serious doubts it'll ever happen unless the Public and the Government take action. Cable companies love to rip you off. It's sickening. They couldn't careless if you pay $70 a month for 50 channels. I've noticed in lots of places the MORE channels you get, the cheaper per channel. It's about $30 a month for the 78-channel cable by itself here. At my grandparent's house it's $40 a month for like 55 channels.

Yeah...we have like 75 channels here, and it's oh...I don't know, $30-ish a month for that.
